Had dropped to a workable mark when touched off here last time. A subsequent 2lb rise demands she produces more than she has shown previously.
Conservatively ridden on first attempt over this trip last time. Worth another try with jockey on board who partnered him to his sole win. Form lines suggest he is closely matched with Mercy Me.
AW winner for David Wachman in Ireland who appeared not to stay on his only previous attempt at this trip. Yard do well during the winter months and he is worth a market check.
AW record of 2-16 and has a particularly undistinguished record around here. Has struggled recently and hard to see how things might improve.
Got his act together last time when stepped up to this trip last time. A 5lb rise for a narrow victory demands a career best but he may have more to offer now that connections have unlocked his potential.
Consistent sort who won a 14-runner handicap last October and won over this C&D in July. Found 1m4f beyond him last time and interesting now back to optimum trip.
Shapes as though this trip will suit and has claims on his best form which includes three wins last term. Hard to argue his handicap is fair so needs to improve somewhat for the extra quarter mile.
Difficult to catch right but everything fell into place when collecting a minor prize at Wolverhampton. Looks well held by Etaad on running here last month.
Winner at Brighton last season off a 2lb higher mark and has won here previously. Goes beyond a mile for the first time and pedigree suggests that will be a problem.
Three times C&D winner who is without a win since 2015. Possible to make out a case on elements of his form but overall his profile makes him easy to oppose. Much depends on his ability to poach a lead.
Winner over C&D a year ago off a similar mark. Has appeared to be coming to hand recently and of definite interest if Estibdaad sets a reasonable gallop.
Forecasts
Fire Tree (13/8), Etaad (9/2), Fast And Hot (6/1), Mercy Me (8/1), Runaiocht (10/1), Red Cossack (12/1), Music Major (14/1), Tommys Geal (18/1), With Approval (22/1), Estibdaad (25/1), Solveig's Song (33/1)
A tricky finale with the best recent form possessed by poorly handicapped horses and excuses needing to be made for the more leniently treated. TOMMY"S GAEL has appeared to be coming to hand recently and the handicapper has given her a chance. Etaad rates a big danger now that he has got his head in front whilst Mercy Me is hardly well handicapped but is less complicated than most of her rivals and should reach a place at least.
1. Tommys Geal
2. Etaad
3. Mercy Me
