Got off the mark for the first time since 2014 here last time and won that with plenty in hand. Well handicapped on old form and it looks a wise move to get him out under a penalty; capable of going in again if in the same mood as last week.

Goes in search of a hat-trick but last two wins came at Southwell and he tends to struggle off a mark this high. Likely to still be in form but may have to settle for a place on this occasion.

Model of consistency. Reeled off back-to-back wins at Lingfield earlier in the summer but has struggled to get his head in front off this kind of mark since. Stayed on well last time over 8f but this extra half mile is an unknown and the suspicion is he needs a bit of relief from the handicapper in order to get his head in front again.

C&D winner but tends to struggle off this kind of mark. Likely to benefit from a strong pace and may not get that here. Absence to overcome but has run well fresh in the past.

Two-time course winner who is 2 lb above his last highest winning mark. Jockey booking an obvious plus but he's appeared like a non-stayer at three previous efforts at this kind of trip and that has to leave a question mark.

One win from nine starts and outran his odds last time out when 66/1 half-a-length third at Wolverhampton. Had the run of the race to some extent there and it appeared to turn in to a sprint. Probably not the strongest piece of form in the race.

Won a valuable race on the AW in France once upon a time but that remains the sole win on the record. Looked like he'd improved for the switch of yard last time though and still unexposed on the Flat so every chance there's plenty more to come for a trainer that has a strike rate just about 20% on the AW.

Won well at Bath in the summer but didn't go on from that and shaped as if amiss when last seen. First start for new yard and he has an absence to overcome. Market likely to be the best guide.

Consistent type who progressed well last year culminating in winning a 14-runner handicap at this course in October. Five pound higher now and steps up in trip but certainly a danger if ready to go after an absence.

Three wins from 33 starts and won well here three starts back but he's six pound higher for that now and this kind of mark has proved beyond him in the past.

Still a maiden after nine starts but has been running consistently well of late. No match for the winner at this course last time when beaten by Camakasi who re-opposes today and may struggle to turn round that form. Trainer has a knack for placing his horses well but suspicion is he'll struggle against better handicapped rivals here.

Earned a rating of 63 having shown only glimmers on three starts in maidens, and already eased down to 60. Performed well after an extended absence last time but was beaten a fair distance and this looks tougher.

Forecasts

Thahab Ifraj (9/4), Camakasi (7/2), Fast And Hot (7/1), My Matador (8/1), Ravens Quest (10/1), Choral Clan (11/1), Paladin (12/1), On Fire (16/1), Jersey Bull (25/1), Sandy Cove (25/1), Solveig's Song (25/1), Pivotal Flame (66/1)

Verdict

MY MATADOR has proven he enjoys the AW surfaces having won a valuable race in France in 2014 and finished second last time out at Lingfield on debut for this yard. The sectional times were impressive from that run and the horse that beat him has come out and won again since so he looks like he could be hard to beat if he progresses from that run. Camakasi bounced back to form last time out winning by four lengths at this course last week and is well-in under a penalty. Fast And Hot is another last time out winner who should put up a good show. 1. My Matador 2. Camakasi 3. Fast And Hot
