Spirit Of Breeze^t⁴¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-0| J: D Egan| T: G & J Moore| OR: 65| D

4/1

Dual 7f winner in 2025 who has stepped forward with each start this campaign, highlighting his turn isn't far away when posting a good second on all-weather at Lingfield (7f) 6 weeks ago. Likely player on the back of a 1 lb rise reunited with David Egan.

Form: 619-332

San Juanito¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 10-0| J: Callum Shepherd| T: M Murphy| OR: 65

14/1

Successful twice at Wolverhampton last spring for Simon & Ed Crisford. However, he ended his time with that yard on a low-key note and it's been a similar story in 4 starts for new connections this summer. Drops further in class now.

Form: 07-9080

Penfolds Grange^v1¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-13| J: Kieren Fox| T: M Pattinson| OR: 64

10/1

Still looking for a first handicap success but again not seen to best effect when finishing midfield in 14-runner C&D handicap 2 weeks ago, not for the first time shaping like a return to 1m was worth exploring. Still, not discounted for each-way purposes with a first-time visor reached for.

Form: 263978

Whitesnake³⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-11| J: Jason Watson| T: R A Teal| OR: 62

6/1

Lightly-raced sort who twice finished third behind subsequent winners prior to getting off the mark in an 11-runner handicap at Lingfield (1m) 5 weeks ago, slipping the field turning for home. Handicapper has reacted with a 7 lb rise but could still have more to offer now she's up and running.

Eyes Front^b¹⁵

Age: 3| Weight: 9-10| J: Ashley Lewis⁽³⁾| T: E Smyth-Osbourne| OR: 64| D

11/2

Posted a career best when belatedly off the mark at Epsom (7f) in July. Not disgraced either start since, rather isolated racing far side when fourth of 11 in handicap at Leicester (6f) 2 weeks ago. Handy inside draw to work from back on all-weather and he's not out of things.

Searchingtheblues^p²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-10| J: Rose Dawes⁽⁵⁾| T: M D I Usher| OR: 61| CD

9/2

C&D winner who responded well to headgear when second at Ffos Las 2 starts ago. Not far off that level when staying on for fourth at Lingfield (7f) but losing run now stretches back over 2 years.

Form: 783024

Ararat²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 9-10| J: J Mitchell| T: R Cook & J Bridger| OR: 61| D

25/1

Landed back-to-back 6f handicaps at Southwell for Robert Cowell last autumn but not really threatened in recent starts despite a sliding mark over various trips for present stable. Assessor eases his grip a little more but he's drawn wider than ideal back at 7f.

Form: 308566

(7)

Chapman's Peak^p²¹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Billy Loughnane| T: E A L Dunlop| OR: 63| CD

9/2

Back-to-back winner of nurseries here last autumn. Below par first 4 starts this season but responded well to fitting of cheekpieces, runner up over 1m at Lingfield prior to posting a good third over C&D 3 weeks ago. Respected with Billy Loughnane in the plate.

Form: 788423

(3)

Upsomdowns¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: S M Levey| T: P Phelan| OR: 63

12/1

Settled better and duly ran best race when second on handicap debut at Lingfield (1m) in January. However, seen only twice since and never threatened when eleventh in a C&D handicap 2 weeks ago.

Form: 346-280

(13)

Zoulu Warrior^v1¹⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 9-8| J: Finley Marsh| T: H Main| OR: 59

25/1

Back-to-back 6f winner on the all weather last December but has struggled on turf in recent months despite a sliding mark, minus headgear when tenth of 13 in handicap at Windsor (6f) 16 days ago. Visor now the headgear of choice.

Form: 470750

Forever My Prince^v1²²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-6| J: Marco Ghiani| T: M Blake| OR: 57| D

40/1

Won a claimer at Leicester on final start for Eve Johnson Houghton last October. Yet to fire for present stable, though, and needs to show more spark before becoming of interest. Visor on first time.

Form: 556569

Bessie Wallis²²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-4| J: S C Cronin⁽³⁾| T: M J Attwater| OR: 58

125/1

All-weather novice winner (5f) as a juvenile but hasn't looked one to be interested in switched to handicaps this season, including 2 starts for new yard.

Form: 6-55448

(9)

Victory Sound^p²⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-0| J: Harry Burns⁽³⁾| T: M D I Usher| OR: 51| D

14/1

Placed 3 times this summer, before taking advantage of his much-reduced mark when winning 13-runner handicap at Newcastle (7f) 3 weeks ago. Scored with a bit in hand then and looks to hold claims in what is a stronger race now that he's got his head back in front.

Forecasts

Spirit Of Breeze (4/1), Searchingtheblues (9/2), Chapman's Peak (9/2), Eyes Front (11/2), Whitesnake (6/1), Midnight's Dream (13/2), Penfolds Grange (10/1), Upsomdowns (12/1), Victory Sound (14/1), San Juanito (14/1), Ararat (25/1), Zoulu Warrior (25/1), Forever My Prince (40/1), Bessie Wallis (125/1)

VICTORY SOUND ended a losing run at a lower level at Newcastle 3 weeks ago, yet he had enough in hand on that occasion to think he can be very competitive again following a token 2 lb rise and earns the vote. Spirit of Breeze highlighted his turn may be near when second at Lingfield recently and he's a major threat under David Egan. Last-time-out scorer Whitesnake remains unexposed at 1m and is another to consider despite a tricky draw.
