Left behind his reappearance effort when gaining a first handicap success at Ascot in May. However, hasn't run as well on either outing since, not the first time his attitude coming into question when sixth of 9 in handicap (10/1) at Ayr (6f, firm) 38 days ago.
Hamilton winner last summer but hasn't made much of an impact in 4 starts this season, albeit going with a little bit more encouragement when tenth of 12 back at Hamilton (6f, good to firm) 16 days ago, unable to sustain his effort after making his challenge on the far wing. Needs to back that up.
Took advantage of a reduced mark in a 10-runner handicap at C&D at the beginning of this month and ran at least as well after a 5 lb rise in the weights when second of 10 in handicap at Hamilton (6f, good, 7/1) 6 days ago. Can go well again.
Took 17 runs to get off the mark but on the upgrade all of a sudden having completed a hat-trick at Nottingham in June. Close to landing a 4-timer when ¾-length third at Newmarket next time and though not in same form last time, he could be interesting returned to a track where he's placed 3 times.
Dual winner last year and produced best effort of the current campaign when close third of 8 at Nottingham last month. Ran respectably from the front when fourth of 8 in handicap at Carlisle (6f, good to firm) 16 days ago and he can give another good account with the visor back on.
Showed consistency on all-weather through the winter before winning a 6f turf handicap at Haydock for Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole in April. Easy to back and struggled in a higher grade when eighth of 10 in handicap (33/1) at Doncaster (5.6f, firm) on debut for new yard 12 days ago.
Off nearly 2 years prior to return but retains ability and only just failed to score over 5f at Ffos Las in June, though his response to pressure was underwhelming when fifth of 11 in a handicap at Ayr (5f, firm) 45 days ago. Back up in trip.
Gained breakthrough success at Kempton (6f) in March and bounced back to form returned to all-weather when third of 8 in handicap at Wolverhampton (6f, 25/1) 9 days ago. Remains reasonably low mileage on a synthetic surface.
Made a successful debut for this yard (formerly trained by George Baker) in a 14-runner handicap at this C&D (5/1) 11 days ago. Well on top at the finish there and makes plenty of appeal in follow-up bid given he escapes a penalty.
Ended a long losing run at Wolverhampton in April and bounced back to form after a couple of lesser efforts when just failing to reel in the winner in a 9-runner handicap at Catterick (6f, good, 11/1) 10 days ago. Regular slow starts remain a concern, though.
Placed twice here on his final 2 outings in 2024 but can only be watched returning from nearly 2 years off.

Forecasts
Massimo Blue (11/8), Fenlander (4/1), Miraculous (5/1), Bergerac (10/1), Azure Zain (11/1), Jenever (14/1), Flash Rascal (16/1), Daytona Lady (18/1), Brazen Idol (25/1), Escape Plan (33/1), Crypto Quest (250/1)
MASSIMO BLUE escapes a penalty for last week's win here and should go close to following up. Fenlander has finished in the placings on all 3 visits to the track and has improved on turf since, so is respected back at Southwell, whilst Miraculous arrives in good heart and also holds claims in a decent race for the grade.
