Say When Gosforth And Ponteland EBF Restricted Novice Stakes (GBB Race)

Son of Pinatubo who isn't at all badly bred. Confirmed debut promise when narrowly opening his account at Hamilton in May. Returns from 10 weeks off with first-time tongue strap added and has to concede weight to some promising sorts.

Beat a subsequent winner with something up his sleeve when making a successful debut at Nottingham (5f) in early-April. Isn't ideal that he's been off since, but he's open to improvement, and could go well under a penalty if ready to roll.

Mohaather colt. Proved a totally different proposition than on debut when successful in a big-field Newbury novice (6f) last time. Further improvement to come now up and running. Looks one of the likelier winners at the weights.

Beat a couple of fair types with experience to make a winning debut by 1 length at Nottingham (6f). Open to improvement and looks favourably treated by the conditions of the race.

Showed clear ability when beaten 7½ lengths (40/1) on debut at Beverley (7.5f). Drop back in trip suggests he's probably a handicap project (bred to need time/distance).

Persian Force colt who was acquired for £56,000 at the breeze-ups. Solid form when third in valuable York novice first time up. Things didn't go right at Ripon subsequently (short of room 1f out). Has been given a break and probably the one to beat on his debut form.

Foaled May 1. €62,000 yearling, Palace Pier colt. Dam winner up to 1¼m (2-y-o 7f winner) who stayed 1½m. Entitled to find this too sharp a test on debut.

Foaled March 30. 38,000 gns yearling, £55,000 2-y-o, Mehmas colt. Dam, maiden (stayed 8.5f), closely related to 2-y-o 7f winner Gile Na Greine and 1m/9f winner (stayed 1½m) Scintillula (both smart). Some pedigree appeal but more likely to make an impact down the line.

Foaled February 22. Time Test colt. Brother to useful winner up to 1m The King's Horses and winner up to 9f Time of Rebirth, both in Italy. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart 5f/6f winner Astrophysical Jet. Stable can ready one but he may come into his own over further.

Foaled March 28. €7,000 yearling, £27,000 2-y-o, Sands of Mali filly. Half-sister to 3 winners, including 6f-9f winner Better Not Bitter and 8.6f-1½m winner Surrey Blaze. Doesn't look the stable's leading hope in the race.

Kodi Bear filly. Unfancied in the betting/struggled on debut in a Redcar maiden (6f) in late-May. Hard to see her making an impact.

Scopey Starspangledbanner filly. Well backed when 2 lengths fourth (third won since) on debut at Doncaster (7f). Green when asked to knuckle down that day and entitled to see her race out better down in trip. Looks interesting for yard that's hardly renowned for precocious juveniles.

Well-held fourth of 7 (250/1) over C&D second time up. Looks one for handicaps.

Foaled April 10. Aclaim filly. Half-sister to 1m winner Crack Up Gadelius. Dam winner up to 7f (2-y-o 6f winner). Stable has better-fancied runner in the race.
