Smart form at best in France, winning 2 of his 3 starts as a 2-y-o, including a Group 3. Lost his way during 2025 and has made a low-key start for current yard, though was ridden too aggressively at Musselburgh latest.
Signed off for 2025 with 6f Newmarket win and back on song with a recent run behind him when fourth of 10 in handicap at Ascot (6f) 4 weeks ago. Respected from same mark.
Won 3 times last year, including at this track, but hasn't fired in 3 runs this season, producing a laboured effort at Chester latest.
Goes well fresh and quickly put a couple of disappointing efforts at the backend of last year behind him when third of 16 at Ripon (6f) on reappearance. Had little chance from his high draw at York subsequently and remains one to bear in mind.
Produced a career best when readily landing 12-runner handicap over C&D last month. Hit with an 8 lb rise but remains of interest.
Runner-up 5 times in 2024 but was held back by slow starts last year and is clearly risky proposition on that basis.
C&D winner who got back on the scoresheet at Wolverhampton in January and has continued in good heart since, giving the well-backed winner most to think about in 6-runner C&D event in early May. Left with a lot of ground to make up at York latest and probably remains in form.
Bounced back to his best to score at Newcastle in December. Not seen to best effect back there 5 weeks later and should be sharper for his recent outing at Chester.
Successful 5 times in 2025 and confirmed he's returned in good order when fourth of 9 at Thirsk in May. Did too much too soon at York subsequently and can bounce back.
Built on debut promise when winning a 5-runner maiden at Ayr (6f, good to firm) in August. Found life tougher under a penalty at Kempton before flying too high in Newmarket listed race on final outing in October. Will have more chance now entering handicaps.
Yet another to be transformed by the switch to James Owen, completing a 4-timer returned to turf in 8-runner handicap at Catterick (6f, good) last month. Remains well treated on old form and another prominent showing anticipated.
Successful twice at Wolverhampton in February. Mostly creditable efforts since and latest run at aforementioned track in first-time cheekpieces best excused having not been ideally placed.
Fourteen runs since last win in 2023 but turned in his best effort for some time after 4 months off when second of 6 in handicap at Southwell (6f) 36 days ago, running on. Needs to back that up now returning to turf.

Photosynthesis (10/3), Papa Cocktail (4/1), Novello Lad (5/1), Betties Bay (13/2), Kirkdale (13/2), American Style (7/1), Mythical Phoenix (12/1), Lord Bertie (12/1), Alondra (14/1), Kats Bob (16/1), Media Darling (16/1), Smart Vision (20/1), Misunderstood (28/1), Tough Enough (28/1), Bright (40/1)
NOVELLO LAD recorded an impressive success over C&D last month and may well be able to overcome an 8 lb higher mark on that evidence. Betties Bay continues to thrive for James Owen and there's no obvious reason why she shouldn't go well again, while Lord Bertie is certainly capable from this mark if putting his best foot forward.
