Saxon Warrior gelding who has made a solid start to his career, doing well given his low draw when fifth of 25 in maiden at Newbury (1m, good) just under 3 weeks ago. Could well have more to offer now handicapping.

Made a winning debut in 10-runner maiden at Newcastle (1m) in February and showed much improved form in defeat 9 weeks on when third of 6 in novice at Yarmouth (1m, good) last month. Further progress hard to rule out now sent down the handicap route.

Won readily on debut over 7f at Haydock last September and looked a useful colt in the making when outclassing 11 rivals under a penalty at Southwell in February (1m). Shaped as if amiss on recent handicap debut at Newmarket so needs to get back on track with a visor on first time.

Well prepared to make a winning debut over 7f at Leicester in September. Similar form next time but ran a cracker after 7 months off when second of 12 in handicap (11/2) at Newmarket (1m, good), rallying final 1f. More to come but will need to settle better than on return on this stiff track.

Confirmed debut promise when winning 7-runner maiden at Southwell (1m). Improved when third behind a pair of well-bred newcomers at Kempton next time but failed to make much impact the last twice in handicaps (on return latest). Makes turf debut in first-time headgear and it remains early days.

Off the mark at the sixth attempt in 9-runner claimer at Chantilly (1m) in March. Has left M. Delcher Sanchez and interesting to see what the market makes of him on yard/handicap debut.

Made a positive start to his career this winter, getting off the mark at the third attempt when winning a 7f novice at Lingfield in January. Shaped as if amiss on handicap/sprint debut last time, though, so needs to bounce back tackling 1m again. Makes turf debut.

Won a Yarmouth maiden over 6f last summer. Gelded in the interim and showed promise after 7 months off when sixth of 14 in handicap at Newbury (7f, good) 3 weeks ago. Step up to 1m may elicit further improvement.

Failed to progress at 2 yrs but took a marked step forward making handicap debut after 6 months off when fourth of 12 at Newmarket (1m, good) last month, finishing strongly and probably would have won in a few more strides. Fancied to be in the mix.

Found a chunk of improvement to win a 1m nursery at Kempton (doing well having met trouble) and progressed again when following up over 7f at Southwell. Ran well on return when seventh of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good) recently but likely to prove vulnerable to less-exposed types.

Off the mark in a 6-runner nursery at Southwell (1m) in September and ran best race despite not really looking suited by the undulating track when fifth of 12 in handicap at Newmarket (1m, good) on return recently. Place claims from the same mark.

Blue Courvoisier (9/4), King's Trust (3/1), Arbaawy (7/2), Northern Empire (9/2), Luzon Heights (7/1), Spirit Of Saxony (10/1), Peel Park (10/1), Outback Heat (11/1), Raging Raj (11/1), Tiger Power (33/1), Exotic Baby (50/1), Seu Jo (80/1)

Verdict

KING'S TRUST upped his game following a gelding operation when beating a now useful rival at Southwell in October and with further progress on the cards, John & Thady Gosden's charge gets the nod to make a winning start to life in handicaps. His main threat may emerge from Blue Courvoisier, who is yet to finish outside the first 2 in 3 starts and should have more to offer. Arbaawy can edge out Luzon Heights for third.
