Timeform
Calyx gelding. Dam winner up to 1m (2-y-o 7f winner).
Timeform
Showed more than first time up 8 months on when fifth in 16-runner C&D maiden 5 weeks ago and likely to be sharper still with that behind him.

€30,000 yearling, Blue Point gelding. Half-brother to useful winner up to 6f Last Crusader and 6f winner Game Breaker. Dam useful French 2-y-o 6f winner. Not without interest in a winnable maiden.
Timeform
Well held in 2 maidens.

85,000 gns foal, 400,000 gns yearling, Havana Grey gelding. Brother to 6f winner Brigid's Cloak. Dam, 1m-1¼m winner, half-sister to very smart winner up to 1¼m (stayed 1½m) Enforcer. Appealing newcomer who cost plenty.

Horse silk
7/1, attracted support and shaped well when beaten just a length in 11-runner Cork (5f, heavy) maiden on debut a fortnight ago, no match for last year's Queen Mary fourth. Bred to be useful and seems sure to improve.
|
Timeform
150/1, played up beforehand and missed break when well beaten in Dundalk maiden last week.
|
Timeform
James Garfield gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including 7f winner Alex Belardo and 7f-1m winner Path of Silver. Dam 8.6f-1¼m winner.

Just fair form at best in 8 runs last year, placed on 3 occasions (went close under inexperienced jockey at Navan in September). Probably going to have to improve to make a successful return but that's certainly possible given connections.

€8,000 yearling, Cotai Glory filly. Dam 1m-10.4f winner.

Fair form last year, placed twice at Dundalk. 6f looks her trip and she returns with her yard in great form, but she's probably vulnerable.
|
Timeform
Starspangledbanner filly. Sister to 3 winners, including 5f/6f winner Grande Marques and US winner up to 8.5f Bubbles On Ice, both useful. Worth noting for any market support.
Timeform
In need of the experience in maidens 6 months apart.

Magna Kotcha15
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-3| J: Colin Keane| T: N Meade
Well beaten at Cork (7f) but had shaped with promise over 1m at Naas on debut just a fortnight earlier. This drop to sprinting probably not what she wants.
|
Timeform
€30,000 3-y-o, Dark Angel filly. Sister to 3 winners, including useful winners up to 1m Melesina and Sir Tommy Cen. Dam, 13f-17f winner, also won over hurdles. Mixed pedigree and suspect she'll be better for the run.
Timeform
Little show in maidens 5 months apart.

Second on debut over 7f at Leopardstown in July but failed to progress. Bit to prove on return though fresh could be the time to catch her.

Verdict

STARMAN TOM made a bright start at Cork behind last year's Queen Mary fourth and makes plenty of appeal with improvement expected up in trip. Ragaire is an appealing newcomer for a good yard having fetched 400,000 guineas as a yearling. The well-bred Thenandnow and Cactus weren't progressing when last seen but represent leading connections and could yet find races.
