Horse A-Z
10/1, fourth of 8 in maiden at Southwell (7f) on debut in December. That form is little better than modest but he's in the right hands to progress.

300,000 gns Siyouni colt. Dam won the French 1000 Guineas. A likely type on breeding and would enter calculations if the betting speaks in his favour.

Wootton Bassett colt. Half-brother to 11f winner Secret Force. Dam smart winner up to 1m (2-y-o 7f winner). Makes plenty of appeal on paper for a top stable which won this last year.

€500,000 Night of Thunder colt. Dam useful French 2-y-o 1m winner who stayed 10.5f from a very good French family. Another newcomer in this line-up who is bred to be useful.

Fair form when 6 lengths second on 7f Wolverhampton debut. Faded when a well-held third over 1m at Southwell 17 days and connections are quick to drop him back in trip now switching to the grass.

Well-related sort who stepped up on his turf debut last summer when third of 4 in a 7f Chelmsford novice 38 days ago. Will almost certainly need to improve again to go close here, though.

Forecasts

Cerro Blanco (11/10), Big Snoopy (11/2), Wield (7/1), Makerstoun (8/1), Galba (8/1), Powder Monkey (12/1), Alpine Culture (16/1), Kimbara (20/1)

Verdict

Those with experience don't set the bar that high so perhaps CERRO BLANCO can strike on debut and provide Charlie Appleby with a second successive win in this maiden. Galba may prove best of those who have seen the track, while the other newcomers, Big Snoopy and Makerstoun, have pedigrees/price tags which suggest they could be well above average.
