Scottish King16
Age: 10|  Weight: 12-0| J: Philip Armson(3)| T: R J Armson| OR:  97| D
Few miles on the clock for a 10-y-o and appears to have turned a corner attitude-wise of late, winning handicap chases at Marker Rasen and Plumpton the last twice. Gone up just 6 lb in total and has to be respected in his hat-trick bid.

Killybegs Jet Ladyv,t173
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-9| J: D R Fox| T: L Russell & M Scudamore| OR:  92| D
Irish point winner who has yet to strike under Rules but has found just one too good several times, including on 2 of her 3 previous C&D starts. Excuses when last seen in October and she could have a say if raring to go following a break.

King Of Congp87
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-9| J: Tom Midgley(3)| T: S England| OR:  92
Successful over hurdles for previous connections in Ireland a couple of years back and responded well to the addition of cheekpieces when runner-up back in this sphere over C&D in November. However, he has failed to reproduce that level of form in 3 subsequent starts.

Age: 7|  Weight: 10-12| J: Sean Quinlan| T: M Todhunter| OR:  81
Produced best hurdles effort here during the autumn and has already established himself as a better chaser, making it third time lucky over fences in good style at Musselburgh (2½m, good to soft) last month. Up 9 lb and moves back up in trip here but he's nevertheless the one to beat.

Reliance Kid69
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-11| J: Callum Bewley| T: A Wilson| OR:  80WS
Went close on third start between the flags back in May 2024 but little to shout about from his 4 starts over hurdles. Has undergone a breathing operation ahead of this chase debut.

Age: 8|  Weight: 10-10| J: Peter Kavanagh| T: W Coltherd| OR:  79
Remains a maiden following a number of appearances both between the flags and under Rules, most recently pulled up on chase debut at Ayr.

Lewa Housep43
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-8| J: Bruce Lynn| T: C Bissett| OR:  77| C
Best effort over fences when going close in this race 12 months ago. Bids to go one better this time round off the same mark but will need to step up on this season's relatively low-key efforts if he's to succeed.

Blue Indigo18
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-8| J: Edward Austin(5)| T: Gary Rutherford| OR:  77
Creditable third in a 9-runner handicap hurdle at Newcastle (23.7f, heavy) in January was by far his best effort to date under Rules. However, he wasn't in the same form at Ayr recently and it's hard to know what to expect of him now switched to fences.

West Lawn44
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-5| J: Charlie Maggs(3)| T: J Walton| OR:  74| C| D
Both hurdles wins came here back in 2022 and though she's a long-standing maiden over fences, she came as close as she ever has done to shedding that tag when second of 4 at Catterick (25f, soft) last month. Each-way shout.

Worth The Walk36
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-2| J: Alice Stevens(3)| T: Micky Hammond| OR:  69| D
Point winner who left previous Rules efforts well behind when second in Market Rasen handicap chase last month. One of just 2 finishers when beaten 11 lengths by Scottish King at the same course next time, though, and it's hard to envisage her reversing those placings here.

Forecasts

Didntgotwenty (2/1), Scottish King (11/4), Killybegs Jet Lady (7/1), Worth The Walk (7/1), West Lawn (8/1), King Of Cong (14/1), Blue Indigo (20/1), Lewa House (20/1), Iturgeon Du Breuil (20/1), Rightbackatyou (33/1), Reliance Kid (33/1)

Verdict

Given their recent exploits it's hard not to be drawn to DIDNTGOTWENTY and Scottish King. The latter has raised his game the last twice and merits serious respect in his hat-trick bid but Didntgotwenty did the job well at Musselburgh last time and, provided that he copes with this step back up in trip, a 9 lb hike may not be enough to stop him. Killybegs Jet Lady can make her presence felt, too, if ready to roll following a 173-day break.
