Wiltshire¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 9-8| J: Tom Marquand| T: W J Haggas| OR: 100| CD

20/1

Had some smart form over C&D in 2024. Seen only twice since but not seen to best effect and shaped as if retaining ability when behind a few of today's rivals on C&D reappearance 15 days ago.

Form: 1283/7-0

(8)

Age: 5| Weight: 9-7| J: P J McDonald| T: G R Oldroyd| OR: 99| CD

10/3

Career best when winning 13-runner handicap at Southwell (6f, 7/4) 15 days ago by neck from Eminency, driven out. Visor back on. Can give another good account off 3 lb higher.

Age: 8| Weight: 9-4| J: Sean Kirrane| T: T D Easterby| OR: 96| CD

Form: 82660-9

(7)

Coul Angel¹⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 9-3| J: R Havlin| T: M Appleby| OR: 95| D

5/1

Very good AW record, including a pair of 6f Kempton wins this autumn. Looked unlucky when 2½ lengths sixth of 13 to Pocklington at Southwell (6f) 15 days ago, hampered twice inside final 1f. Likely to have a big say with a clear passage.

Form: 13112-6

(3)

Germanic⁶⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 9-0| J: Rowan Scott| T: Miss J A Camacho| OR: 92| CD

11/2

Disappointed on turf last year but bounced back to form to take advantage of a reduced mark over C&D in November, beating the reopposing Heavenly Heather by 1½ lengths and taking his AW record to 2 wins and a second from 3 starts. A must for the shortlist.

Form: 000601-

(5)

Sergeant Wilko^p¹¹⁸

16/1

C&D winner. 18/1, nineteenth of 25 in Ayr Silver Cup in September. Off since. Others arrive with more compelling claims.

Form: 445060-

(12)

Heavenly Heather³^{(ex 5)}

Age: 5| Weight: 8-11| J: Barry McHugh| T: Miss Tracy Waggott| OR: 84| CD

11/1

In very good form here this winter but a 5 lb penalty for her small-field win over 5f on Tuesday might leave her vulnerable for win purposes in this much deeper race.

Form: 86221-1

(1)

Eminency^h,t¹⁵

Age: 6| Weight: 8-10| J: Jack Dace⁽⁵⁾| T: S C Williams| OR: 88| D

16/1

Three wins from 11 runs last year. Latest win at Chelmsford in December. 33/1, good neck second of 13 to Pocklington in handicap at Southwell (6f) 15 days ago, finishing well. Another who has to enter calculations,

Form: 14141-2

(2)

The Caltonian^b³⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 8-10| J: K T O'Neill| T: Miss L A Perratt| OR: 88| CD

Five-time course scorer who won 7 times in a very productive 2025. Good third of 12 in handicap at Southwell (6f) 15 days ago. 1 lb out of the handicap here.

Form: 09172-3

Forecasts

Pocklington (10/3), Coul Angel (5/1), Germanic (11/2), Ten Pounds (6/1), Berkshire Whisper (9/1), Heavenly Heather (11/1), Photosynthesis (12/1), Sergeant Wilko (16/1), Eminency (16/1), Wiltshire (20/1), Purest Time (25/1), Fivethousandtoone (28/1), The Caltonian (33/1), Oriental Prince (33/1)

A cracking handicap. COUL ANGEL has arguably been an unlucky loser on his last 2 outings and can show he's still on a favourable mark. Germanic has excelled in his 3 visits here and is second choice ahead of Pocklington and Eminency, who finished ahead of the selection when 1-2 in a similarly strong handicap at Southwell recently.
