Stratocracy^b1²²

Age: 4| Weight: 9-13| J: J Mitchell| T: K Frost| OR: 74| D

6/1

Had good summer form including a win at Newbury before finishing 5th of 10 in handicap at Chester (12/1) 22 days ago when a wide stall didn't help. Blinkers now the headgear of choice and he's an each-way player.

City Cyclone³⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 9-12| J: William Carson| T: A W Carroll| OR: 73| CD

12/1

Four-time C&D winner who wasn't at his best following an 8-week break when sixth of 8 in handicap at Brighton (14/1) 34 days ago, running below form after a break. Return to AW an obvious plus for all he remains 3 lb above last winning mark.

Riot^t,v¹⁵

Age: 8| Weight: 9-12| J: P Cosgrave| T: D O'Meara| OR: 73| D

11/1

Without a win in 21 runs, finished fourth of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (11/2) 15 days ago, wasn't disgraced in making the frame but not quick enough. Consistency never a strong suit but no doubting he's on an exploitable mark if putting it all together.

Form: 580044

(2)

Royal Accord⁵⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-11| J: Gabriella Hill⁽⁷⁾| T: S C Williams| OR: 74| D

18/1

Progressive in handicaps this season, taking another step forward when bagging a 6f handicap at Newmarket (10/1) 50 days ago, leading in the last half-furlong and keeping on well. Remains unexposed at this trip and he's one to consider again.

Form: 321521

(8)

Bajan Bandit³⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 9-10| J: Paddy Bradley| T: P Morris| OR: 71| DWS

4/1

Winless in 11 starts despite some respectable efforts, finished 8th of 13 in handicap at Southwell (12/1) over 7f on AW 37 days ago, seemingly merely ticking over at present. First run after wind operation but others rate stronger.

Correspondence²³

Age: 3| Weight: 9-9| J: Callum Rodriguez| T: Harry Eustace| OR: 72

11/4

Lightly-raced 3-year-old showing promise in novice/maiden events, finishing third twice. Second of 6 in novice at Newcastle (9/2) over 7f 23 days ago, racing freely but staying on without threatening winner. Good gallop to aim at will help now handicapping and he's one to consider.

Form: 332

(5)

Diddy Man⁴⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 9-6| J: Finley Marsh| T: T Faulkner| OR: 67| CD

5/1

Three-time winner in handicaps (including over C&D) but he comes here having refused to race in 1m handicap at Chepstow 6 weeks ago. Clearly needs treating with caution on the back of that.

Form: 41352R

The Caribbean^b²⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 9-1| J: Darragh Keenan| T: H Main| OR: 62| D

14/1

Without a win in 18 starts and he arrives below par, seventh of 9 in handicap over (8.6f) here 27 days ago. Others are preferred. Engaged 2.20 Ascot Friday.

Form: 056547

(4)

Dream Illusion^p¹²

Age: 3| Weight: 8-12| J: Jack Nicholls⁽⁵⁾| T: K R Burke| OR: 61| BF| CD

8/1

Has one C&D win and finished second of 6 in a turf handicap at Leicester (2/1) 12 days ago, travelling well before headed inside the final furlong. Consistency is hard to knock and no reason why she won't go well again back here.

Form: 655422

(6)

Beauzon¹⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 8-10| J: Josephine Gordon| T: Ian Williams| OR: 57| C

66/1

Second at Leicester (6f) in May was something of a standout effort this year and he comes here on the back of a disappointing ninth of 10 at Kempton (28/1) 10 days ago after awkward start. That was his first start for 4 months though, so entitled to be sharper now.

Forecasts

Correspondence (11/4), Bajan Bandit (4/1), Diddy Man (5/1), Stratocracy (6/1), Dream Illusion (8/1), Riot (11/1), City Cyclone (12/1), The Caribbean (14/1), Royal Accord (18/1), Beauzon (66/1)

CORRESPONDENCE makes his handicap debut after running well in novice events, and a stronger gallop here could unlock further improvement from this lightly-raced 3-year-old. Royal Accord has been progressive this season with wins at Lingfield and Newmarket, including a determined 6f success last time and he rates next best. City Cyclone, a four-time C&D winner, is another to consider along with Riot.
