Has advanced his form sent handicapping, scoring over C&D and at Yarmouth in July. Posted a good sixth of 12 in Melrose at York (13.8f, good to firm) 14 days ago, despite needing a stiffer test. Expected to be bang there off the same mark.

Improving Frankel colt who readily bagged a pair of novices at Doncaster and Lingfield in July. Very good 3¾ lengths second of 13 to Circus of Rome in handicap at Newcastle (12.4f) 16 days ago. Firmly in the picture with more improvement on the cards.

Yet to score but this Irish challenger continues on the up, second of 12 in handicap at Chepstow (12f, good) 30 days ago. Up 3 lb but that form is working out well so he's well in the mix again.

Progressive this season and got off the mark in 14f maiden at Goodwood in June. Backed it up with a solid fourth of 10 in handicap over C&D (good) 63 days ago and likely to give another good account.

Son of Cracksman got off the mark in maiden at Hamilton (11f) in June and has advanced his form in handicaps since, strong at the finish when runner-up at Sandown (14f) last time. Has more to offer and a likely player with cheekpices added.

Running with credit without getting his head in front in 2025, a close ninth of 12 in Melrose at York (13.8f, good to firm) 14 days ago. No forlorn hope off a 2 lb lower mark.

Forecasts

Pole Star (11/4), Valiancy (4/1), Circus Of Rome (9/2), Ride The Thunder (15/2), Gran Descans (15/2), Winston Junior (9/1), Fantasy World (12/1), Way Of Stars (16/1), Tiernan (16/1), Mafting (33/1), Love Talk (80/1)

Verdict

Some promising young stayers here, not least CIRCUS OF ROME who resumed from a break with an impressive success at Newcastle and can now complete his hat-trick. William Haggas has a good record in this and his Valiancy rates a big danger, while Charlie Johnston's Pole Star is weighted to go well. Gran Descans, Ride The Thunder and Winston Junior all command plenty of respect too in this cracking handicap.
