Had been progressive prior to compromising his chance with slow start at Goodwood. Ran creditably on softer ground than previously encountered when fourth of 8 in handicap at this course (8f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Should go well back over 7f on a sound surface.
Got off the mark at Yarmouth in May and backed it up with two fourth place finishes in better company than he faces here. Drop back to 7f shouldn't inconvenience him and he holds solid claims back down in grade.
Heavily backed prior to making a winning debut at Newcastle in February. Surpassed that form when second under a penalty but hasn't kicked on from that, well held on handicap debut (first start since being gelded) when eleventh of 12 in handicap at York (7.9f, good) 35 days ago. Needs to improve.
Winner at Leicester in April but yet to threaten in handicaps, bit below form fifth of 9 in handicap (7/2) at Chester (7.6f, good to firm) 22 days ago, took a strong hold and hung left final furlong. Handicapper has given him a chance if proving more tractable.
Fairly useful maiden juvenile last season, best forgiven final run at Haydock (1m) in September on ground that stretched his stamina over 1m. Wears blinkers on first run for yard after leaving Jane Chapple-Hyam but has improvement to find if he's to get off the mark on handicap debut.
Left behind juvenile form when well backed to defeat a next time out winner in a Beverley maiden (7.4f) on reappearance in May. Never figured when ninth of 10 on handicap debut at Haydock (7.2f) in May but not one to write off with this ease in class a plus.
4-time winner over this trip (including over C&D last season) but has failed to fire in two starts this year. Drops back to the distance over which she's had most success but still has something to prove at present.
Runner-up three times in 6 starts, latest when second of 8 in handicap at Newbury (8f, good to firm, 4/1) 30 days ago, needing stronger gallop. May get a stronger pace to aim at back over 7f and should prove capable of holding his own upped in grade.
Opened his account at the seventh time of asking when taking a C&D handicap in June (runner-up won since) and shaped as if still in form when fourth of 9 in handicap at Ascot (7f, firm) 21 days ago, unable to sustain effort having been forced wide. Remains of interest.
6f winner as a juvenile and has performed creditably in handicaps this season, fifth of 9 in handicap (9/1) at Haydock (6f, good) 15 days ago but never threatened to land a more telling blow. Step up in trip may need to eke some improvement.

Rogue Diplomat (7/2), Best Rate (7/2), Roman Centurion (7/2), Dapper Guest (5/1), Winston's Warrior (9/1), Forever My Prince (11/1), Rajaking (12/1), Nordic Norm (16/1), Rogue Invader (22/1), Calyxoh (25/1), Naina (33/1)
ROMAN CENTURION has been running creditably in better company of late and may be able to capitalise on this drop in grade. Dapper Guest may prove next best, the form of his win here in June has been franked and he shaped as though still in form when forced wider than ideal at Ascot last time, while Best Rate eases slightly in grade and should go well returned to 7f back on a sounder surface.
