7/2

Veteran with mixed form this season, including a respectable 4th at Ayr. First of 12 in handicap at this C&D 7 days ago, rallying in final furlong to lead in the closing stages. Remains well treated despite a penalty but it's a long time since he's put back-to-back wins together.

Havana Rum^p¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-0| J: O J Orr| T: R A Fahey| OR: 65| BF| D

11/4

Consistent of late, finished second of 13 in 5.8f handicap at Carlisle (11/4) 18 days ago, travelled as well as any but compromised his chance when hanging badly right. May be able to get his head in front if re-application of cheekpieces has the desired effect.

Mattice^p¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-0| J: Shay Farmer⁽⁷⁾| T: I W McInnes| OR: 65| D

13/2

Had shown little in 3 starts this season before returning to form to win a 13-runner handicap (from a career-low mark) at Carlisle (28/1) 18 days ago, making all under an attacking ride. Still well treated but remains to be seen if he's able to dominate from the front this time around.

Form: 32-0081

Age: 8| Weight: 9-5| J: Kaiya Fraser| T: I Jardine| OR: 56| C| D

17/2

Course winner who finished sixth of 16 in a handicap at this C&D (5/1) 21 days ago, making headway then plugging on. That was a respectable enough effort but remains without a win in 20 starts.

No Nay Nevermind¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: Mohammed Tabti⁽⁵⁾| T: I Jardine| OR: 59

14/1

Fared better than previously when fifth of 8 in 7f handicap at Ayr (12/1) 14 days ago when again not helping her rider. Down in trip but needs more to get off the mark.

Form: 45-0975

Thunderstorm Katie⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 8-9| J: Amie Waugh⁽³⁾| T: J S Goldie| OR: 45

11/2

Maiden who ran fourth of 12 in handicap at this course (10/1) 7 days ago, running well after another breathing operation, staying on final 1f faring best of those held up. 1 lb out of the handicap but has a chance if she can build on that.

Form: 7-74584

Forecasts

Havana Rum (11/4), Danzan (7/2), Giselles Izzy (4/1), Thunderstorm Katie (11/2), Mattice (13/2), Jump The Gun (17/2), No Nay Nevermind (14/1)

HAVANA RUM has been very consistent of late, including when runner-up at Carlisle last time and although not the most straightforward, the return of cheekpieces may see him go one better here. Danzan returned to winning ways over C&D 7 days ago, rallying strongly in the final furlong and while he rarely strings consecutive wins together, he remains well treated. Mattice is still on a handy mark following his Carlisle victory but may not be able to dominate as he did that day.
