Course winner. 11/10, career best when winning 6-runner handicap at Nottingham (6.1f, good) 6 days ago, readily. Looks up to defying a penalty in current form.
Latest win at Newcastle in February. Very good third of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm, 20/1) 14 days ago and reproduction of that would put him firmly in the picture.
Course winner. 11/1, creditable second of 10 in handicap at this course (8f, good to firm) 26 days ago, left poorly placed. Not without each-way hope.
Hooded for 1st time, respectable sixth of 11 in handicap (5/1) at Ayr (6f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Down another 2 lb and this 5-y-o may well capitalise on the handicapper's mercy before long.
14/1, first run since leaving H. D. McGuigan when twelfth of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (8f) 27 days ago, slowly away. Looks set for another struggle.
4/1, bit below form sixth of 11 in handicap at Ayr (7.2f, good to soft) 17 days ago. Has dropped to a career-low mark and would be a huge player if returning to something like his best.
Two wins from 5 runs this year, the latest at Chelmsford in April. Eighth of 11 in handicap at the same course (7f, 15/2) 23 days ago and others make more appeal from a win point of view.
Latest win at Southwell in February. 33/1, ninth of 13 in handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good) 53 days ago. Readily passed over.
Latest win at Nottingham in May. Fourth of 7 in handicap (9/4) at Pontefract (8f, good to firm) 62 days ago, doing too much too soon. Visor now discarded and chance largely depends on whether he settles this time.
Course winner. Fifteen runs since last win in 2023. First run since leaving Roger Fell & Sean Murray when last of 12 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 80/1) 31 days ago. Back down in trip and he's probably worth taking on.
C&D winner. 2 wins from 4 runs this year. 14/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at this C&D (good to firm) 5 days ago, no match for winner. Likely to give another good account.

Forecasts
Novello Lad (7/2), Beale Street (4/1), One Night Thunder (4/1), Bella Bisbee (11/2), Amayretto (6/1), Highland Olly (10/1), Rich Rhythm (12/1), Red Mirage (14/1), Joe Masseria (25/1), Cliffcake (50/1), Wildfell (80/1)
NOVELLO LAD went close twice over this C&D prior to deservedly regaining the winning thread back at 6f in a Nottingham handicap last week. He appeared to have plenty left in the tank that day and, with the return to this trip no problem, he will prove hard to beat under a penalty. One Night Thunder signalled that his turn is not far away at Ayr recently and he is next on the list ahead of Beale Street, while Amayretto is also likely to be on the premises.
- Novello Lad7/2
- Beale Street4/1
