135,000 gns Night of Thunder gelding. Dam, 2-y-o 8.5f winner. Proved too free when twelfth of 14 in maiden at Kempton (8f) on debut 32 days ago. Hood quickly reached for on the back of that and percentage call to look elsewhere.

Masar gelding who was still in need of experience but duly showed more than on debut when third of 6 in maiden at Catterick (12.1f, good, 66/1) 16 days ago. Marked drop in trip here certainly not sure to suit and he'll be more of interest when tackling handicaps.

Promising individual. 5/4, second of 7 in novice at Wolverhampton (7.2f) on debut 53 days ago, no match for winner. This son of Make Believe has more to offer and rates a player tackling this longer trip.

Cotai Glory gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners abroad. However, big prices and showed little in pair of AW maidens last month. Will have handicaps to explore after this at least.

Well held in pair of 7f AW novice events last autumn, looking a difficult ride in the process. Looks easy enough to oppose switched to turf after 6 months off.

80,000 gns purchase who ran green and looked in need of initial experience when eleventh of 12 in maiden at Newbury (8f, good) on debut 27 days ago. Hooded for 1st time having been gelded since but his pedigree suggests 1m could be well short of his optimum.

Son of Sea The Moon who produced a promising first effort at a trip likely to be short of his optimum when fifth of 12 in maiden at Newbury (1m) 27 days ago. Gelded subsequently and there's better to come, not least when tackling 1¼m+.

£95,000 Kameko colt. Well backed but he showed significant greenness when eleventh of 12 in novice at Kempton (1m, 3/1) on debut in October, very slowly into stride. Support behind him that day ought not to be forgotten and he rates a likely improver.

Promising individual who stepped up on his sole start as a 2-y-o when third of 12 in novice (11/4) at Doncaster (7f, good) 14 days ago. Of interest with further progress in the offing now stepped up to 1m.

Ghaiyyath colt who was clued up for debut and ran to a fair level when fourth of 8 in novice (12/1) at Southwell (8.1f) on debut 19 days ago, having run of race. Still, he's from a talented family this trainer knows well and he's entitled to do better.

Camelot filly. Dam, 7.6f-1¼m winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 1¼m Sparkling Beam. Showed more than on debut returning from 5 months off when fourth of 7 in novice at Beverley (8.4f, good to soft) 23 days ago. Hooded for 1st time but handicaps will be more suitable after this.

Wootton Bassett half-sister to 2-y-o 7f winner Hard To Resist. Proved easy to back and ultimately held back by inexperience when sixth of 10 in maiden at Southwell (7.1f) on debut in November. In top hands but she's probably one for the longer term.

Forecasts

River King (5/6), Excellent Believe (11/4), Lola Moon (11/2), Flame Of Forest (8/1), Tempting Fate (12/1), Pakal (14/1), Typhoon Dancer (28/1), King Of The Sea (28/1), Booming (40/1), Soul Dance (100/1), Brave Emerald (125/1), For What Its Worth (300/1), Jackchester (300/1)

Verdict

RIVER KING was much shorter in the betting and built on the promise he showed on debut as a juvenile when finishing a solid third in a Doncaster novice (7f) 2 weeks ago. He appeals as the type to go on improving and earns the vote on his first crack at 1m. Excellent Believe and Lola Moon each displayed promise on their recent debuts and are others fancied to be in the mix.
