Fair form when runner-up twice in AW novice events to start 2023 but well beaten in 2 outings over the winter, including a handicap. A subsequent wind operation needs to help him get his career back on track.

Opened his account at Wolverhampton in October. Creditable second of 12 there (1½m) on Boxing Day but not so good in 2 outings this year. Sports first-time cheekpieces in a bid to get back on track.

Fair maiden. Off 8 months, not seen to best effect when fourth of 7 in 13f Ayr handicap on reappearance 17 days ago, left poorly placed. Less exposed than the majority of these. Considered.

Hurdle winner for Milton Harris last May and made a positive start back on the Flat for new trainer when close second of 13 at Bath (1¼m, good) last Friday. Sure to go well if coping with 2 outings in quick succession after a break.

Modest maiden. 9/4, fourth of 7 in handicap at Yarmouth (11.5f, good to soft) 27 days ago. Might have to wait a bit longer for a first success.

Forecasts

Sisterandbrother (7/4), She's A Novelty (9/2), Churchill Rose (9/2), Southern Voyage (6/1), Knights Affair (9/1), Major Major (9/1), Polemon (28/1), Glory Nights (28/1)

Verdict

A second outing in quick succession after a lay-off is always a slight concern but SISTERANDBROTHER was nicely clear of the rest when a narrowly denied at Bath last Friday and looks well treated off the same mark. The unexposed Knights Affair was better than the result on his Ayr reappearance and is second choice ahead of the returning She's A Novelty.
