Foaled April 9. €460,000 yearling, Wootton Bassett colt. Dam, 2-y-o 6f-1m (Prix Marcel Boussac/Balanchine Stakes) winner, half-sister to smart multiple 6f winner Polybius. Obvious appeal on paper for his top yard and confidence behind him in the betting would look significant.

Promising individual. Fourth of 8 in minor event (15/2) at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) on debut 8 days ago, not knocked about. Should improve with that run under his belt and he's a key player.

Once-raced maiden. 20/1, ninth of 10 in minor event at Ascot (5f, good to firm) on debut 16 days ago. Significantly up in trip and will need to leave that well behind if he's to emerge on top here.

Forecasts

El Burhan (6/4), Attack (3/1), Bretton Wood (5/1), Van Aert (7/1), Dr T H G (11/1), Big Cyril (22/1), Pivotal Days (28/1), Mr Ubiquitous (50/1), Lazieelunch (200/1)

Verdict

EL BURHAN shaped well under a considerate ride when fourth on his recent debut at Newmarket and he is taken to put that experience to good use here. Newcomer Attack looks the part on paper and is clear second choice ahead of another likely-looking debutant in Van Aert. Big Cyril and Dr T H G also make some appeal on paper and Bretton Wood has shown ability in his two starts and should pick up a race before long.
