33/1, last of 11 in handicap at this course (7.1f) 13 days ago, probably in need of the run on the back of 6 months off. Usual headgear again absent here but is now operating just 1 lb above last winning mark at least.

C&D winner who ran best race for Jessica Macey when runner-up over C&D on penultimate start. Not in same form, albeit not ideally placed when seventh of 11 back here 3 weeks ago and he starts out for new yard who are amongst the winners. Not out of things.
Enjoyed a productive 2022, landing back-to-back 6f handicaps on turf/AW and returned with a respectable third in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago, outpaced over 2f out and keeping on. May well sharpen up a little for that and he's still low-mileage on artificial surfaces.
Fourteen runs since last win in 2021. 22/1, creditable fourth of 18 in handicap at Redcar (7f, good to soft) in October, progress over 1f out and running on. Both career victories to date have come on AW and interesting what the market makes of him on return from 6 months off.
Fourteen runs since last win in 2020. First run since leaving Les Eyre when seventh of 10 in handicap (13/2) at Doncaster (5f, heavy) 11 days ago, pushed along before halfway and never involved. Others make more appeal.
In good form on AW since turn of the year and enhanced good course record when landing 10-runner C&D handicap 2 weeks ago, leading approaching final 1f and keeping on. 2 lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another good showing.
Thirteen runs since last win in 2022. 9/2, looked unlucky not to finish closer when sixth of 11 in handicap at this course (5f) 13 days ago, keeping on when denied a run inside final 1f. This mark looks exploitable provided he gets the breaks returned to 6f.
17/2, 3ÂĽ lengths fifth of 10 to Jems Bond in handicap at this C&D 13 days ago, shaping as if better for the run on the back of 5 months off. Now operating 8 lb below last winning mark if he can build on that here.
Just the one win from 23 starts but she again ran well when runner-up in a C&D handicap 3 weeks ago, challenging final 1f and keeping on. On a fair mark and she's another worthy of a second look with cheekpieces added to usual hood.
7-time course winner, successful at this C&D in February. 10/1, ran right up to best second of 10 in handicap at this C&D 10 days ago, staying on final 1f. Another who can't be dismissed in a competitive affair.
Maiden (best form on AW for Richard Hughes) who went the wrong way from yard debut effort when last of 11 in handicap at Pontefract (6f) in October. Undergone wind surgery ahead of return and the betting should prove a useful guide operating from career-low mark.
Unreliable sort. C&D winner. Run best excused when ninth of 13 in handicap at this course (7.1f, 4/1) 13 days ago, blindfold removed late/racing off the pace. Still, he's not the easiest to predict.

Forecasts
Jems Bond (3/1), Blazing Son (10/3), Sir Benedict (11/2), Mumcat (13/2), Thaki (17/2), Merry Secret (9/1), Tathmeen (12/1), Patontheback (16/1), Dream Together (20/1), Hey Mr (80/1), Brides Bay (80/1), Merricourt (100/1)
JEMS BOND has been in excellent heart on AW since the turn of the year, adding to his good course record in a C&D handicap 2 weeks ago and a 2 lb higher mark shouldn't prevent another bold showing. This is competitive however, with Mumcat, who comes here on the back of a good second herself, feared. Blazing Son and Sir Benedict complete the shortlist.
- Jems Bond3/1
- Mumcat13/2
- Blazing Son10/3
