Verdict

Though still a maiden following 15 starts, SHABS is clearly capable of winning a race of this type judged on recent efforts and he is taken to deservedly open his account. Velma failed to fire on her latest appearance in March but she has gone well fresh in the past and could have a big part to play if on-song. Channel Packet made every post a winning one at Chelmsford last month and is also worthy of consideration.
