Age: 7| Weight: 9-9| J: Mr Taylor Fisher⁽⁷⁾| T: A Watson| OR: 80| D

20/1

Has added to his very good Pontefract record with 3 6f wins this year. Rare poor effort there last time, though.

Form: 142119

(7)

Glory Fighter⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 9-6| J: G Lee| T: P T Midgley| OR: 77

18/1

Tenth of 15 in handicap at York (5f, good to soft, 22/1) 8 days ago. Well treated if staging a revival.

Form: 222900

(11)

Roundhay Park¹²

Age: 7| Weight: 9-5| J: Faye McManoman⁽³⁾| T: N Tinkler| OR: 76| D

7/1

Back to form to win at Pontefract (6f, good) 12 days ago. Only raised 2 lb and he won off higher marks last season. Has to enter the reckoning.

Form: 686001

(1)

Motawaazy¹⁷⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 9-5| J: Connor Beasley| T: M Dods| OR: 76| CD

7/1

Fourth course success when seeing off 9 rivals over this trip on his reappearance in April. Absent since but evidently capable well fresh and a bold show seems likely from a handy inside stall.

Form: 41110-1

(4)

Black Friday⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 9-4| J: Frederick Larson⁽⁵⁾| T: R M Smith| OR: 75| D

4/1

Seventh of 11 in handicap at Ayr (6f, heavy) 9 days ago. On a favourable mark but hard to be sure he's in good enough form to take advantage.

Form: 667057

(5)

Admirality²⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 9-2| J: Jason Hart| T: R Fell & S Murray| OR: 73| D

7/1

Probably worth forgiving his below-par effort in the Ayr Bronze Cup last time and he'd been knocking at the door prior to that. One to consider.

Form: 724630

(3)

Eldelbar⁴⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 9-0| J: S H James| T: G A Harker| OR: 71| CD

25/1

C&D winner. Latest win at Beverley in July. Bit below form fifth of 10 in handicap (18/1) at Beverley (7.4f, good to firm) 49 days ago.

Form: 052315

(10)

Pearl Of Qatar^v⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 8-13| J: Phil Dennis| T: T Davidson| OR: 70| D

9/1

Arrives on the back of a couple of creditable placed efforts at Ayr in recent weeks. Likely to be in the shake-up again.

Form: 707423

(6)

Dark Shot^b²⁴

Age: 9| Weight: 8-8| J: D Swift| T: S Dixon| OR: 65| CD

12/1

Pair of C&D wins last October, including this race. Drawn a blank since but he is well handicapped if a return to this venue sparks him back to life.

Form: 483000

(9)

After John⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 8-7| J: A Mullen| T: I Jardine| OR: 64| D

(2)

Highjacked⁷³

Age: 6| Weight: 8-5| J: Amie Waugh⁽⁵⁾| T: J J Davies| OR: 62| D

20/1

17/2, below form sixth of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (7f) 73 days ago, left poorly placed. Others more persuasive.

Form: 674-336

Forecasts

Gabrial The Devil (4/1), Black Friday (4/1), Roundhay Park (7/1), Admirality (7/1), Motawaazy (7/1), Pearl Of Qatar (9/1), Dark Shot (12/1), After John (16/1), Glory Fighter (18/1), Highjacked (20/1), Corinthia Knight (20/1), Eldelbar (25/1)

MOTAWAAZY's C&D win in April came after 198 days off so his absence since then isn't too big a concern and he can enhance his excellent strike-rate. Recent Pontefract scorer Roundhay Park and Roger Fell's Admirality head th dangers in this veterans' event.
