C&D winner. 28/1, below form 4½ lengths fifth of 14 to Copper Knight in handicap at Doncaster (5f, heavy), never nearer. Off 7 months.
C&D winner. Good second of 22 in handicap at York (6f, good to soft, 16/1) 24 days ago, keeping on well. Can be bang there again.
Ninth of 12 in handicap (12/1) at York (5f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Yet to hit top form this season but is back below his last winning mark.
10/1, 9¾ lengths fifth of 8 to Winter Power in listed race at York (5f, good). Off 12 months. Faces a tough task on handicap debut, though has good-value claimer on board.
Off 20 months, 13/2, showed that retains all ability when second of 8 in handicap at Haydock (5f, good) 9 days ago. Task is now to build on that effort.
Fourteen runs since last win in 2020. Looked rusty when tenth of 11 in handicap at this C&D (good to soft, 16/1) 49 days ago. Has had excuses for his last trio of runs. Interesting contender.
Off 7 months, 13/2, resumed progress when winning 7-runner handicap at Doncaster (5f, good to firm) 43 days ago, always holding on. Major player with the promise of more to come.
Latest win at Newcastle in February. Respectable fifth of 14 in handicap at Hamilton (5f, good to firm, 28/1) 27 days ago. Needs everything to drop right.
Dual C&D winner last season. Shaper as if better for run when seventh of 8 in handicap (6/1) at Haydock (5f, good) 9 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Not dismissed lightly back here.
C&D winner. 9/2, ran well after 7 months off when third of 12 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) 35 days ago. Will be difficult to dominate in this line-up.
10/1, back on track when fourth of 12 in handicap at York (5f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time. Others more persuasive.
Bounced back to form when won 9-runner handicap at Navan (5f, good, 5/1) 21 days ago. Remains well-handicapped on last summer's form if able to back up his previous effort.
C&D winner. 13/2, respectable third of 7 in handicap at Catterick (5f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Blinkers back on.

Makanah (5/2), Copper Knight (11/2), Sampers Seven (11/2), Ancient Times (6/1), Showalong (10/1), Glory Fighter (10/1), Only Spoofing (12/1), Modular Magic (12/1), Be Proud (16/1), Indian Sounds (18/1), Danzeno (22/1), Burning Cash (22/1), Mejthaam (25/1), Never Dark (33/1), John Kirkup (50/1)
MAKANAH has returned as good as ever this year, denied only narrowly in a big-field York handicap last month, and he can go one better with a strong pace back at 5f to suit. There are plenty of dangers though, with Ancient Times feared most after his winning reappearance, while Indian Sounds finished ahead of the selection here back in October and is better than he could show on his last 3 starts.
