11/1

Lightly-raced maiden. 11/1, good fifth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (1½m) when last seen in August. Much less exposed than most of these and could go on to better things in 2022.

Spirit Warning^p²⁵³

Age: 6| Weight: 9-8| J: P Cosgrave| T: George Baker| OR: 64

7/1

It's now 20 runs since his last win in 2019. Plenty of respectable runs for Andrew Balding last year but others preferred for the win on return for a new trainer.

Form: 324644-

(12)

Invincible Soldier⁴⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 9-5| J: Liam Keniry| T: C G Cox| OR: 61| D

5/1

Creditable third at Wolverhampton in March. Stumbled badly on home turn and probably best to overlook a lesser run on turf at Doncaster since.

Form: 1563-30

(4)

Doonbeg Farmer²¹

Age: 4| Weight: 9-3| J: Rhys Clutterbuck⁽³⁾| T: H J Evans| OR: 59| D

Form: 7-91528

(10)

Blue Hero^h¹⁷

Age: 4| Weight: 9-3| J: Tyler Heard⁽⁵⁾| T: A Wintle| OR: 59| CD

9/2

Won twice here last autumn, including this trip. Respectable fourth of 10 in 1m handicap here on return. Back up in trip. Ought to be competitive.

Form: 93113-4

(2)

Plansina^h¹⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 9-1| J: David Probert| T: A Wintle| OR: 57| CD

11/2

C&D winner. 11/1, creditable second of 9 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 18 days ago, just failing. One of 2 from the yard who should have a part to play.

Form: 131-662

(1)

Sisterandbrother²⁴²

Age: 4| Weight: 8-13| J: P J Dobbs| T: M F Harris| OR: 55

4/1

Fair maiden at best for Mick Channon last year, including runner-up twice off higher marks than this. Very interesting on return to action for in-form new trainer Milton Harris.

Form: 822455-

Forecasts

Sisterandbrother (4/1), Blue Hero (9/2), Invincible Soldier (5/1), Plansina (11/2), Spirit Warning (7/1), Uther Pendragon (7/1), Doonbeg Farmer (8/1), Persuasive Powers (11/1), Gertcha (12/1), Retrouvailles (16/1), Rakish Paddy (50/1), Joyful Song (66/1)

The one that stands out here is SISTERANDBROTHER who is well treated on his best form and there's got to be chance that in-form new trainer Milton Harris will be able to get a bit more out of him. The lightly-raced Persuasive Powers appeals as one who could have more to offer this year so she's a possible threat. Adrian Wintle pair Plansina and Blue Hero are also respected.
