5/1

C&D winner. Latest win here in January. 7/1, seventh of 11 in handicap at Chelmsford City (5f) 20 days ago. Others make more appeal on this occasion.

Form: 161257

Lockdown^h,t³⁵

4/1

Creditable fifth of 12 in handicap (22/1) at Kempton (7f) 35 days ago, racing closer to pace than ideal. Entitled to come on for that (first run for six months) and he's firmly in calculations.

Form: 6/8130-5

(1)

Swiss Pride^p⁴⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 9-5| J: Rossa Ryan| T: R A Teal| OR: 73| CD

18/5

Five-time C&D winner. Three wins from 11 runs last year. 4/1, sixth of 8 in handicap at this C&D (AW) 47 days ago, left poorly placed. Dropped to a handy mark, but looks vulnerable all the same.

Form: 3-58666

(3)

Vandad^p,t²⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 9-4| J: William Carson| T: M J Attwater| OR: 72| C

20/1

7/1

11/2, career best when winning 16-runner handicap at Windsor (6f, good) 9 days ago. Obvious claims under a penalty, for all that his AW strike rate (0-17) somewhat tempers enthusiasm.

Form: 09-4731

(6)

Soyounique^t⁴

Forecasts

Soyounique (9/4), Swiss Pride (18/5), Lockdown (4/1), Impeach (5/1), Winnetka (7/1), Twilight Heir (16/1), Vandad (20/1)

The vote goes to LOCKDOWN, who travelled well for a long way before fading in the closing stages when fifth on his reappearance over 7f at Kempton. On that evidence, this drop back in trip looks a good move and he should be a little sharper with that run under his belt. Winnetka is bound to be popular following last week's clear-cut Windsor success and, though 0-17 on the all-weather, he wasn't beaten at all far here on his penultimate start. Soyounique also merits respect.
