Went like the best horse at the weights when runner-up at Fontwell in October, but did endure a hard race, and was unable to build on that when disappointing at Exeter last time. Visor applied now.

Fair maiden over hurdles, but offered little on chasing debut over C&D 3 weeks ago when always behind. That was a much stronger race, though, and it was his first run for 8 months. May build on that.

Bolted up on debut for this yard at Hexham last month, and improved further in defeat when runner-up to another thriving sort at Sedgefield last time. Still lightly raced and looks a big player.

Improved for this headgear combination of late, relishing the step up in trip when winning at Sedgefield in October, and has run well to finish second last twice. Should be thereabouts once more.

Modest hurdler who opened his account at Hexham in May and didn't run badly at Newcastle earlier this month. Has jumping and stamina to prove now making his chase debut, though.

Point winner who has shown improved form in 2 starts over fences, building on his debut as expected at Southwell 2 weeks ago, and remains of interest with the headgear back on. Tongue tie also added.

Showed little over hurdles but made a promising debut over fences at Hexham 18 days ago under an overly patient ride. Stayed on well that day, suggesting he'll improve for 3m, and isn't discounted.

Showed next to nothing over hurdles in Ireland and went with no encouragement on chase/yard debut 3 weeks ago. Needs to take a big step forward to figure.

Runner-up to a next-time-out winner at Kelso on return in October and was once again placed at Doncaster last month. Generally consistent sort who should once again figure, but does remain a maiden.

Long-standing maiden who hasn't been disgraced hitting the frame on his last two starts, but comes up against some lesser exposed rivals here, and is 2 lb out of the handicap.

Still in contention when falling at Doncaster last month but he was still some way from home. One to monitor in the market for a shrewd yard despite being 3 lb out of the weights. Blinkers on.

Continues to fall in the weights but is showing no sign of taking advantage. Cheekpieces back on now, but others are readily preferred.

Runner-up on second chase start at Uttoxeter in June, but his jumping often lets him down over fences, and he failed to complete for second start running at Doncaster last time. Risky proposition.

Well out of the handicap on his chase debut here 3 weeks ago and she didn't shape with much encouragement. Back up in trip but another struggle is on the cards.

Verdict

It was no surprise KAPHUMOR started a well-backed favourite last time given the impression he made on debut for Sue Smith and he was unlucky to bump into another thriving sort. He likely has more to offer and makes plenty of appeal in a race where you can easily put a line through plenty. The consistent Grey Atlantic Way should once again run his race, while Croagh Patrick can also be involved.

  2. GREY ATLANTIC WAY (IRE)
  3. CROAGH PATRICK (IRE)
