Eleven runs since last win in 2020. Tongue strap on first time, respectable fourth of 5 in handicap at Ripon (1½m, good to firm) 29 days ago. Makes fibresand debut.
Easy C&D winner in April and added to his tally at Chelmsford City in June. Only tenth of 11 in handicap at Kempton (2m) 39 days ago but may do better back on this surface.
Shade disappointing in a couple of turf handicaps this year but still early days with this stable but perhaps cheekpieces and a switch to fibresand (yard does well here) will spark improvement.
Wolverhampton winner in the spring. Also went close at Ayr last month. Creditable sixth of 11 in handicap at Musselburgh (13f, good to firm) 16 days ago. Makes fibresand debut.
Three-time C&D winner. 33/1, last of 8 in handicap at Nottingham 26 days ago but better can be expected back here.
Front runner who won back-to-back handicaps in the spring, the first one over 11f here. Took a step back in the right direction when fourth in Haydock Class 4 latest and respected at this lower level.
Winner on 9f Musselburgh reappearance in April. Hasn't advanced his form since so hopes pinned to some degree on this new surface sparking improvement.
C&D winner in April and has built on that on turf since, winning twice and a good second at Yarmouth when last seen in May. This 3-y-o could easily have more to offer back from a break.

King Viktor (9/4), Zookeeper (4/1), Scudamore (11/2), Beggarman (11/2), Sociologist (13/2), Tigray (11/1), Lord Torranaga (12/1), Near Kettering (14/1), Viaduct (25/1)
A few possibilities in a competitive fibresand finale but KING VIKTOR does rather stand out as a progressive sort and was successful on his sole previous visit here so he's the selection. It would be fitting were a Mick Appleby runner to play a prominent role and Tigray has the potential to do just that as a three-time C&D winner. Sociologist is also respected for local trainer Scott Dixon.
