C&D winner who turned in his best effort of the season when fourth at Haydock last time. Cheekpieces back on but stall 12 makes things tricky.

Scored off 1 lb lower mark over C&D in April and shaped a bit better than the result (not ideally positioned) when third at Leicester 10 days ago. Respected despite wide draw.

Mostly at least respectable efforts this term, including when fourth of 19 in a competitive event at York last time, chasing leaders. Hasn't won for a long time but this represents a drop in grade.

Has won three times this year but more recent efforts suggest the handicapper has his measure, only fourth at Epsom last time. Likely to be on the front end early.

Largely consistent for this yard and best not judged on last run (caught away from the main action) at York. Mark looks fair and he should be well positioned.

Scored in first-time cheekpieces at Ayr in June but undone by a rise next time and this is a big leap back up in trip.

Gained second success of the campaign at Chester in June, then went off too hard there last time. Claims if he can secure a good position from stall 9.

Mixed record for Mark Johnston in handicaps last year but has thrived for current yard, winning over 1m at Newcastle and Ayr in April. Good third at Carlisle 32 days ago, and another bold bid likely.

Winless since his debut but in good order for new yard this term, having every chance when third of 6 at Hamilton last time. Should be well positioned, so likely to be thereabouts.

Scored from this mark earlier in the campaign and was back on track, albeit helped by a strong gallop, when narrow third at Chester. Hampered when last of 10 at York on Friday.

Just respectable form at best in 3 runs last season and underperformed at Catterick on belated return. Hard to make a case for.

Forecasts

Lion Tower (4/1), Defence Treaty (7/1), Fred (7/1), Praxeology (8/1), Danzan (9/1), Eton College (10/1), Northernpowerhouse (10/1), Coase (11/1), Be Proud (11/1), I Am A Dreamer (14/1), Gloves Lynch (25/1), Fennaan (28/1)

Verdict

LION TOWER has been in terrific form this term and a first-time visor seemed to spark some improvement at Carlisle last time (always close up), so he's taken to resume winning ways despite having stall 11 to contend with. Coase, who may have a more favourable tactical position than the selection, is feared most ahead of Danzan.
