Mostly seen on the AW and kept busy in recent months, holding his form well. Effective on turf but doesn't have much in hand off current mark.

Much improved this year, getting back on the up after a short break when winning 9-runner handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW). Bit disappointing back on turf at Newmarket, however. Front runner. Hooded.

Useful in France and, fitter for a spin on AW earlier in the year, returned to form when a close fourth at Doncaster. Out of her depth in Group 3 at Newmarket since and can bounce back.

Winner of 2 of his first 4 starts at 3 yrs, including a 7f Newmarket handicap (good to soft). Struggled off revised mark at Doncaster both starts since but still early days. Off 6 months.

Steadily progressive as a 3-y-o after making a winning handicap debut at Kempton (just failed over C&D in October) and shaped well on return there last month. Tongue strap on and remains unexposed.

Likeable sprinter who gained some reward for his consistency when winning here (5f) in October 2019. Good second at Ayr (6f, heavy) later that month but not seen since. Might need this.

Talented sprinter who should have won over this C&D off this mark in September. Positive start to the new season when runner-up at Kempton and needs considering under Buick.

Went close a couple of times on the AW this winter, including at Lingfield when last seen in December, arguably a bit unlucky not to collect. Just as effective on turf.

Caused a bit of a surprise when narrow winner over C&D under this rider in October, just holding on after quickening to lead over 1f out. Shaped as if needing comeback at Newmarket last month.

Has built a solid profile on AW and ran well after 5 months off when close third at Chelmsford recently. That was his first try at 6f so may have more to offer at this trip but turf form not as solid.

Dual 6f turf winner last year for James Given. All the rage for new connections at Wetherby on return and was only just denied despite failing to settle. Of interest again.

Improved performer since dropped in trip, winning twice at Newcastle over the winter. Might well have gone close to following up there had he not finished lame 5 weeks ago. Rare start on turf.

Last win came over C&D off 5 lb higher in September 2019. More than capable off this sort of mark if he puts his best foot forward and shaped well after 10 weeks off when third at Newmarket latest.

Verdict

EQUITATION is on a long losing run but he shaped as if ready to strike when third at Newmarket on his return to turf. Many A Star only just failed to land a gamble on reappearance/yard debut at Wetherby despite failing to settle so rates a big threat, while Fresh and Jonah Jones both should have won off similar marks over this C&D last season.
