Half-brother to Big Orange. Form of third in 6f Newbury maiden last July worked out really well and he can't have been right when last of 6 in Newmarket nursery a month later. Left Michael Bell after.

Hamoudi¹⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Andrea Atzeni| T: R Varian

5/4

220,000 gns Dark Angel colt. Unseated early on Ascot debut last summer so was effectively having his first start when just under 3 lengths fourth in 7f Newmarket maiden 19 days ago. Should progress.

Form: P-4

Professor Calculus¹⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: P J Dobbs| T: R Hannon

40/1

18/1, eighth of 9 in maiden at Newbury (1m, good) on debut 14 days ago. State Secretary has to be considered the yard's first string unless the betting hints otherwise.

Form: 8

Sisterandbrother

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Charles Bishop| T: M R Channon

40/1

Sixties Icon colt. Dam 1½m winner out of useful 1¼m winner (stayed 1½m) Kaylianni. Bred for further and likely he's best watched on debut.

11/4

Plenty of promise when runner-up over 7f on AW at Kempton and Chelmsford 6 months apart. Remains open to improvement and the one to beat if as good on turf.

Form: 2-2

12/1

66/1, seventh of 11 in maiden at Newbury (1m, good) on debut 14 days ago. Needs to have come on a fair bit in a short time.

Forecasts

Hamoudi (5/4), State Secretary (11/4), Aesthete (3/1), Walls of Kano (12/1), Colden's Passion (14/1), Power Em (33/1), Professor Calculus (40/1), Sisterandbrother (40/1), Emanate (300/1)

STATE SECRETARY has finished runner-up in a couple of outings on AW and is selected to go one better now switching to the grass. Promising Newmarket fourth Hamoudi rates the chief threat ahead of Aesthete, who has joined Ralph Beckett since last seen.
