Horse A-Z
Flat-bred filly who bolted up on debut in a Huntingdon bumper (13.7f) last month. Will prove hard to beat under a penalty.

Recent Warwick debut was not devoid of promise, but sizeable step forward needed if she's to emerge on top here.

Half-sister to 3 winners on the Flat, including useful 1½m-2m winner Nuits St Georges. Interesting to see what the market has to say.

Limited appeal on paper and probably best watched on debut.

Didn't show enough on debut at Market Rasen in October to suggest that she'll play a leading role in this contest.

Walk In The Park filly. Dam unraced sister to moody but useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 29f) Buachaill Alainn. Yard's record in bumpers in recent seasons is pretty modest (8% strike rate).

Useful middle-distance Flat pedigree and showed some ability when third on debut in 1¾m Warwick bumper 17 days ago (Alchemystique back in third). Solid each-way chance.

Al Namix filly. Half-sister to fair hurdler Easter Gold, stays 19f. Yard saddles a more appealing candidate in Countess Olivia.

Maxios filly. Half-sister to minor US winner by Mizzen Mast. Dam useful French/US 9f winner. Tongue strap enlisted for this debut and, like stablemate Haute Estime, she's probably worth taking on.

Half-sister to numerous winners, including fairly useful hurdler Crystal Pearl and fair hurdler Dee Cee Elle, while dam was a 15f winner. Worth a second look in the betting.

Forecasts

Eileendover (1/3), Hoopmalassie (8/1), Surooj (17/2), Alchemystique (11/1), Splashing (25/1), Ebony Girl (28/1), Rock On Sweetie (33/1), Redwing Lass (40/1), Haute Estime (50/1), Howzat Hiris (50/1), Countess Olivia (50/1), Elysees Dream (125/1)

Verdict

EILEENDOVER barely broke sweat when making a winning start at Huntingdon and she is hard to oppose, despite carrying a penalty. It's easy enough to make a compelling each-way case for Hoopmalassie, who was clear of the re-opposing Alchemystique when runner-up on her introduction at Warwick. However, newcomer Surooj gets the nod for forecast purposes.
