Fair maiden hurdler in France and successful over fences at Toulouse in March 2019. Form isn't easy to assess in the context of this race, but has joined a shrewd yard and market check advised.

Winner of sole start between the flags and has shaped well on 2 of his 3 starts in maiden hurdles, third of 15 at Chepstow (19.4f) last month. May do better now upped in trip for this handicap debut.

Signs of ability in maiden/novice hurdles during 2018/19 campaign, but wellbeing has to be taken on trust given that he missed the whole of last season.

Improved when making a winning handicap debut at Carlisle (2½m) last month. Unsuited by emphasis on speed under a penalty at Wetherby next time and this stiffer test should be in his favour.

Would be a real force off this reduced mark if able to reproduce form from 2017/18 season, but didn't show enough on recent Newton Abbot comeback run to make him of interest here.

Fairly useful stayer on Flat who made winning hurdles debut at Uttoxeter in July. Rather disapppointing since, but latest effort in first-time blinkers (retained) at Ludlow was more encouraging.

Yet to get his head in front, but placed on 3 of his 4 starts since switched to handicaps. Mark unchanged following solid Lingfield third last time and claims with trip/ground fine.

Different proposition since her stamina has been brought into play, scoring twice over 26.5f at Newton Abbot during the summer. Has remained in good form since and should be on the premises once more.

Posted his best effort yet when a creditable fourth of 11 upped to 19.3f on return/handicap debut here last month. This further step up in trip looks a good move and he's not discounted.

Still winless following 16 attempts overall (11 over hurdles) and reappearance effort at Bangor was uninspiring.

Forecasts

Tide Times (3/1), Apple Rock (10/3), Certainly Red (4/1), Silver Nickel (7/1), Enqarde (9/1), Timoshenko (12/1), My Lady Grey (14/1), Hatchet Jack (14/1), Jog On (33/1), Puppet Warrior (50/1)

Verdict

This looks wide open and a chance is taken on SILVER NICKEL, who shaped well when fourth on return/handicap debut here 20 days ago. Seamus Mullins' charge was doing his best work in the closing stages on that occasion, leaving the impression that this stiffer test would be right up his street. French-import Enqarde is one to monitor closely in the betting, but Certainly Red rates the main danger.

  1. SILVER NICKEL (IRE)
  2. CERTAINLY RED
  3. ENQARDE (FR)
