Showed a terrific attitude when completing hat-trick in 5f York listed race in August. Fine fourth taking on seasoned campaigners at Doncaster since and should be in the mix back in his own age group.

Shaped well on debut in July and has won each of his 3 subsequent starts, most recently a 5f Haydock nursery (good). This is tougher but he's clearly progressive and claims if coping with conditions.

Winner of Windsor maiden and Ripon listed event on first 2 starts (both 6f). Failed to improve when pitched into Group 2 company last time but not short of pace and 5f on soft ground could be ideal.

Wide-margin Chepstow winner in July and performed well above market expectations when fourth in the Flying Childers at Doncaster (5f, good to firm) last time. Good each-way chance on that evidence.

Left previous efforts well behind when, sent off at 250/1, finishing third in listed company at Ayr (5f, good to soft) 3 weeks ago. However, even that form leaves him short of what is required here.

Left debut behind when easily making all in 5f Sandown maiden last month. Performed with credit upped to 6f in Newbury Group 2 next time and could have a part to play here back at the minimum trip.

Created big impression when winning first 2 starts (both 6f) before recent Middle Park write-off (saddled slipped before halfway). Remains with potential and drop to 5f shouldn't be an issue.

Thirsk novice winner in August and has improved in listed/Group company since, ½-length second to Winter Power in first-time cheekpieces at Ayr (5f, good to soft) last time. More needed.

Progressive filly who bagged Sandown and Goodwood nurseries before completing the hat-trick in listed race at Chantilly (5f, soft). Further improvement possible and she needs considering.

Seemingly raised her game when second in Sandown listed event in July but she has failed to reproduce that form in 3 subsequent starts.

Speedy filly who notched third success when proving too strong for Nomadic Empire and First Company in Ayr listed race last time. Conditions won't be a problem but this is more demanding.

Forecasts

Method (11/4), Bahrain Pride (5/1), Acklam Express (11/2), Atalis Bay (13/2), Royal Address (8/1), Winter Power (10/1), First Edition (11/1), Nomadic Empire (16/1), Burning Cash (20/1), First Company (50/1), Wings Of A Dove (100/1)

Verdict

It was a shame that METHOD didn't have the opportunity to show what he's capable of in the Middle Park, but he remains a colt of considerable potential and will prove hard to beat if coping with this drop to 5f and the forecast soft ground. Acklam Express performed admirably against his elders last time and merits respect, but progressive duo Royal Address and Atalis Bay rate the main dangers.
