8/1, below form seventh of 15 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good) 45 days ago, slowly away. Cheekpieces back on. Forecast conditions are a worry.
Fourth of 11 in handicap at Hamilton (9.2f, good, 10/1) 46 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Conditions won't pose a problem and claims if first-time cheekpieces have the desired effect.
Won 9-runner handicap (8/1) at Beverley (9.9f, firm) 19 days ago, battling well. Up 4 lb and previous efforts on soft/heavy do not augur well with conditions likely to be on the slow side here.
Two wins from 6 runs this year. Latest win at Musselburgh in June. Good second of 12 in handicap at Ayr (10f, good to soft, 4/1) 7 days ago, clear of rest. Big player off the same mark.
50/1, ninth of 10 in handicap at Catterick (7f, good to soft) 14 days ago. Significantly up in trip. Little Ted appears to be the stable first-string.
Creditable third of 13 in handicap (4/1) at Thirsk (8f, good to firm) 33 days ago, left poorly placed. Back up in trip and could be a factor if coping with conditions.
28/1, creditable third of 13 in handicap at Doncaster (10.2f, firm) 16 days ago. That was much his best effort for a while and he's lurking on a dangerous mark, but forecast conditions are a worry.
Thrice-raced maiden. 66/1, tenth of 11 in maiden at Pontefract (8f, good) 77 days ago. Up in trip for this handicap debut. Limited appeal.
One win from 32 Flat runs, which was back in 2016. Second of 7 in handicap hurdle (25/1) at Southwell (15.8f, good to firm) 7 days ago. Opposable back in this sphere.
66/1, first run since leaving Hugo Palmer when eighth of 9 in handicap at Beverley (9.9f, good) 38 days ago. Readily passed over.
Forecasts
Little Ted (6/5), Forus (11/2), Jamih (13/2), Royal Shaheen (17/2), Hector's Here (10/1), Jupiter Road (11/1), My Painter (12/1), Reeth (22/1), Collette (66/1), Tazaman (80/1)
Ready preference is for LITTLE TED, who pulled well clear of the rest when chasing home a well-treated rival at Ayr last week. He is proven on an easy surface and performed well on sole previous visit to this course last year. Royal Shaheen has been given a chance by the handicapper (4 lb below last winning mark) and shaped as though coming to hand at Hamilton. He is feared most ahead of Forus.
- LITTLE TED
- ROYAL SHAHEEN (FR)
- FORUS
