Four-time 6f winner last season but yet to find full stride in 4 outings this summer. On the plus side, she is 4 lb below her last successful mark.
Ended losing run in 13-runner handicap (4/1) at York (6f, good to firm) but never a threat in a better race at Ripon since. Back down in class now but could have been better drawn.
Much improved when making all in a Ripon novice last year. Almost matched that form when fourth on return (handicap debut) at York and might have found next run coming too soon. Headgear on.
Won over this C&D last season off 1 lb higher. Close third at Chepstow last month and again hit the crossbar here last week. Should go well again from stall 1.
Successful in 6f events first 2 starts last summer but form levelled off in stronger races thereafter and yet to make an impact in handicaps this term.
Debut winner at Carlisle a year ago but well held both starts since. Off 10 months. Makes handicap debut.
Fair form and landed odds in 5-runner novice at Musselburgh (5f, good) in June. Struggled on handicap bow next time, however, and mark still too high.
Has been running well in defeat this season and should be on the premises again from low draw. Unraced on going softer than good on turf.
Runner-up at Ayr on his second start back last month but not so good next 2 starts. However, on a career-low mark now so dangerous to discount.
Runner-up at Thirsk and Ripon this summer but needs to shrug off a couple of poor efforts since.
Back-to-back winner at Southwell earlier in the year but has struggled back on turf both starts this summer so bit to prove.
Back to form in first-time blinkers when third of 12 in handicap (50/1) at Haydock (7.2f) but disappointed at Ayr next time. Others more solid.
Forecasts
Lihou (5/4), Roundhay Park (11/2), Tommy G (13/2), Newyorkstateofmind (7/1), Betsey Trotter (8/1), Iva Reflection (17/2), Hot Affair (16/1), Joshua R (33/1), Macho Time (50/1), De Bruyne Horse (50/1), Shortbackandsides (80/1), Deb's Delight (80/1)
LIHOU has gone close a couple of times this season, including when runner-up here last week, and should make another bold bid from stall 1. Hot Affair might have found her latest run coming too soon and is worth another chance to build on her encouraging return, while Tommy G is lurking on a dangerous mark nowadays.
- LIHOU
- HOT AFFAIR
