Leicester 1m h'cap winner last season for Adrian Nicholls on fairly quick ground but has looked out of sorts in three outings since June for current handler. 11th of 12 over C&D last month and despite 3lb drop may struggle again.
Wolverhampton AW 7f h'cap winner in January but has run poorly both starts since return from break and faded fast at Haydock last time. Eased 5lb since then and 7lb claimer takes over but hard to enthuse over at present.
Acts on any surface and won four 1m h'caps in 2018 for Roger Fell. Regressive form six starts since after prior to sign of better to come when fifth at Lingfield earlier this month after being hampered. Well handicapped if back on song.
Only win in 15 attempts came on third start for William Haggas in Kempton 1m maiden in 2017. Eased 20lb since then but still not firing on all cylinders although made favourite C&D last time where picked up an injury so not completely out of it.
Seven-race maiden who had wind surgery in October 2018 then made promising return when fair second at Bath in July despite suffering inteference. Things didn't go her way at Wolverhampton last time and off 1lb lower comes into the reckoning.
Admirable veteran who has won 13 races from 114 starts. Scored nicely at Bath last month before third there last time out. 3lb higher but in good heart and 7lb claim helps the cause.
Casamento gelding who showed nothing on debut on only start last year but was fair third at Leicester on latest outing in 1m maiden and makes handicap bow here off modest mark. Stable in fair form so of some interest.
Three starts during the winter in maiden and novice company at up to 9.5f showing on a faint glimmer of ability. Gelded in January and not seen since. Handicap bow here with champion jockey an interesting booking so worth a market check.
Still a maiden after 23 starts despite repeatedly showing enough to suggest the ability has been there to win a little race. Stays a mile but likely to find a few too good once even with falling mark.
Maiden after eight attempts all at 6f-7f. Tackles 1m for first time after keeping on last two starts at 6f but stamina has to be a concern in the anticipated strongly run race here. Others make more appeal.
Placed four times from 21 starts but yet to taste success. Distant third in modest 1m Chepstow h'cap last time. Jockey second at Brighton last term on only previous on him so connections doubtless hoping he can go one better this time.
Swiss Spirit who has finished last twice and last but one in her three starts so far in novice events between 6f-1m2f. Makes handicap bow off very low mark but cannot be fancied.
Forecasts
Rodney Le Roc (9/2), Air Of York (11/2), Tanqeeb (11/2), Zest Of Zambia (6/1), Dreaming Of Paris (7/1), Mrs Benson (17/2), Don't Cry About It (12/1), Valletta Sunset (16/1), Springvale Lad (18/1), The Stalking Moon (20/1), Plansina (20/1), Barboukha (200/1)
VALETTA SUNSET showed improved form when third in a Leicester maiden last time and off a mark of 57 should be competitive on his first run in a handicap. Also running for the first time in a handicap is Springvale Lad who hasn't shown much so far but the booking of the champion jockey catches the eye. Plansina looked to be runnng back into form with a fair fifth last time at Lingfield and is nicely weighted on the pick of her old form, while Dreaming Of Paris was backed into favouritism here last time but came back with an injury and connections may be out to recover losses. Old Air Of York should be thereabouts as usual.
- Valletta Sunset
- Plansina
