Can start slowly, but a Nottingham novice winner last term, and he showed improved form in a first-time visor to score at Leicester last time by a neck from Tiritomba. Has every chance assuming effect of headgear continues.
Off the mark when long odds-on for 1m Windsor novice event last month, but went handicapping on a very stiff mark, and could make no impact at Ascot on first attempt. Needs some relief if he's to win at this level.
Best effort last year when landing a 1m maiden at Kempton in December by 5L from Shumba. Yard does well bringing its runners back from a lay-off, so entitled to respect making handicap debut here.
Had fine juvenile campaign last year winning three times, including twice at 1m. Evidence of three runs this season, however, is that he hasn't trained on, and cheekpieces are reached for now.
Took seven attempts as a 2yo to get off the mark, battling hard to do so at York (1m, soft) in October. Creditable efforts this year, running well when third in first-time cheekpieces on penultimate start, and left poorly placed at Newbury since.
Narrow second on latter 2-y-o start at Lingfield (1m) in November, and much too free to do himself justice on his return/handicap bow at Doncaster last month. Not one to give up on after that forgivable effort.
Took a while to get to grips with handicaps, but helped by a drop in the weights when winning at Yarmouth last time by 1¼L from Internationalangel. Beaten off this mark before, but should do better now he's finally clicked.
Forecasts
Cloud Drift (9/4), Anglo Saxson (4/1), Itkaann (5/1), Hot Summer (11/2), Hibernian Warrior (13/2), Sword Beach (15/2), World Title (22/1)
CLOUD DRIFT can lack concentration at the stalls, but seemed to benefit from the fitting of a visor when winning well at Leicester last time. A reproduction of that may be good enough here, although Anglo Saxson is going the right way now, and looks a threat in receipt of 11lb. Itkaann has been off for a while, but the yard's runners are usually ready after a break, and he rates a danger on his handicap bow.
