This represents his first run in UK for these connections. No obvious signs of improvement for the change of scenery when down the field in a couple of runs at Meydan (1m4f; good). Sole career success came over this trip.
Buzzy type. Disappointing he hasn't been able to press on from what was a career-best at Redcar (1m2f; good to firm) last year. Disappointed in competitive middle-distance handicaps since. Questions to answer despite the ease in grade.
Fourth behind Harrovian (well-fancied for the feature race on this card) on his seasonal comeback at Doncaster (1m2f; good to firm). That was an encouraging stable debut after his form tailed off slightly for Sir Michael Stoute. Interesting sort.
Entitled to need what was his first run for almost a year when fifth of ten at Kempton (1m4f; standard to slow). Smart form in defeat in handicaps last year. Still doesn't look too badly handicapper and the stable are going well. Claims.
Improved from low-key reappearance run to finish second when finding the in-form Dark Jedi (runs in the John Smith's Cup; 2.30pm) at Hamilton (1m1f; soft). Extra three furlongs should suit and a definite player if able to reproduce most recent run.
Makes handicap/seasonal/stable debut and this is his first start since being gelded. Drops back to 1m4f after shedding maiden tag at the third attempt at Goodwood (1m6f; good) when beating a useful sort. Open to plenty progress in this sphere.
Won at this course twice last season, and she showed much more when a returning to form third at Ripon (1m2f; good) last week. Now 1lb below last winning mark and very interesting to see how popular she is in the market.
Been majorly regressive of late, finishing last on each of his previous two starts. Tailed off when last seen at Chelmsford (1m6f; standard). Subsequently impossible to fancy on return from 149-day break.
Almost back down to the sort of mark he was winning off last season. Has failed to win in three starts since upped to 1m6f, so the return to 1m4f is a positive and he is still lightly raced at this trip. Form of the yard a concern.
Yet to build on breakthrough win in a maiden at Carlisle (1m1f; soft) last May. Slightly more encouraging signs when fifth of seven at Ayr (1m2f; soft) recently, & she remains lightly raced. Place claims at best if able to build upon that run.
Returned to the track in very disappointing form this year after previously looking progressive. Only beaten the one rival home in a pair of small-field events since stepped up in trip. Plenty to prove and others look much more solid.

Prejudice (9/2), Al Muffrih (9/2), Arctic Fox (9/2), Jackamundo (5/1), Mayfair Spirit (17/2), Make My Day (10/1), Sandret (10/1), Gold Souk (12/1), Elector (14/1), Where's Jeff (20/1), Secretarial (28/1), Kasaman (66/1), Borodin (150/1)
This is slightly less competitive than the two assignments Al Muffrih has been tasked with recently, including at Royal Ascot when the ground may have been to blame. His final start of 2019 was equally disappointing when he finished last in the Old Newton Cup. He has ability but MAKE MY DAY is fancied to make a winning return to action on his first foray into handicap company for new trainer Ralph Beckett. The selection showed enough ability in maidens last year to suggest he can enjoy plenty of success in this sphere. After taking a step back in the right direction on debut for this yard, Elector may also have a say, while Arctic Fox and Where's Jeff are names to note.
- Make My Day
- Elector
- Al Muffrih
