Markaz colt. Cost 15,000gns as a yearling. Half-brother to 5f 'Listed' two-year-old winner Punita Arora. Stable operating at a 21% strike-rate in previous 14 days. Interesting newcomer especially if popular in the betting.
Posted a pretty likeable effort on debut in a typically competitive maiden at Newmarket (6f; good to firm). The third didn't do much for the form at Ascot at the weekend but this is a weaker race so he should be involved.
£3,000 yearling. By Cityscape but already gelded ahead of debut. Yard are going well at present but there is quite a bit of stamina on the dams side so he may be one for the future.
Cannot be taken seriously given she was tailed-off on debut at Doncaster (5f; good to soft) after making a tardy start. Others have far stronger claims so he is confidently opposed.
Improved from low-key debut effort when finding one too good at Beverley (5f; good to soft) on first run on grass. That form has arguably been boosted with the winner representing herself well in a 'Listed' contest at York (5f; good to soft).
By Mukhadram but only cost 800gns as a yearling. Dam won over 6f-7f as a two-year-old and she is a half-sister to the fairly useful 7f-1m2f winner Cote D'Azur. May be one for further down the line.
Only cost a mere 1,500gns as a yearling. By Estidhkaar but already been gelded ahead of debut. Half-brother to a winner over this trip in Hungary/Slovakia. Market check required.
Ducked left at the start of the race on debut at Beverley (5f; good) and was off the bridle to keep up with the rest of the field throughout the race. Will have learnt plenty from that as she steps up in trip.
Steps up in trip which will need to work after she failed to improve from a promising debut effort at Newcastle (5f; standard to slow). May be worth another chance given the form of that debut run is pretty hot.
Penny dropped late in the day when the race had already been decided at Chepstow (5f; good) on her debut at the start of the month. Should be much straighter now and the stable may have turned a corner after their latest runner won at the weekend.
Elzaam filly cost 3,500gns as a yearling. Dam was a winner over 7f but apart from that she doesn't make a great deal of appeal on paper. Watching brief advised.
Showed little on debut and then finished just behind Showtime Elle (2nd) when third at Redcar at the end of last month. That form has been given a boost, and if she can take a similar step forward again she would have to figure prominently.
€5,000 yearling by Prince Of Lir. Stable always respected with their newcomers. This doesn't look an overly hot race to start career off in so she is of interest if the market speaks in her favour.
Improved from debut effort when runner-up to Bowman at Redcar (6f; good to firm) recently. That form has been franked with the winner going in again since on Sunday. Solid claims and should be bang there.
Forecasts
Ataser (11/8), Ready Freddie Go (5/1), Blowing Wind (11/2), Showtime Elle (10/1), Lady Danger (10/1), Aish (14/1), Fast Emma (16/1), Moorland Queen (18/1), Altalune (20/1), Fliss Floss (25/1), Esticky End (28/1), King Viktor (66/1), Cecco Bravo (80/1), Northern General (200/1)
After he finished fourth behind the high-class Dandalla on debut, it was disappointing that Aish was not capable of more when last seen but he is worth another chance. Ready Freddie Go has to enter calculations after he took a definite step forward when runner-up last time and the winner of that contest finished third in a hot race at York last week. The form of the race Showtime Elle finished second in last time has also been given a boost with the winner going in again recently. However, the selection is ATASER who finished fourth for his rookie trainer in a decent looking event at Newmarket on debut and that form should be good enough to take this contest.
- Ataser
- Ready Freddie Go
- Showtime Elle
