3-12 but hasn't won yet at this trip, although performed well enough when second over 1m at Newcastle on his seasonal return. Modest 4th of 5 last time though and cheekpieces now added to concentrate his mind.
28/1 Redcar 1m winner penultimate start and solid third at Sandown last time off this mark. Seems in very good heart at present but may find one or two too good.
Not out of the first three in last four outings, all at 1m, including victory at Kempton AW in February off 7lb lower. Solid run back there last month and although ran poorly both previous attempts on turf is open to improvement in this surface.
Fair fourth over C&D last year on only visit so far to this venue but has been just a bit below par in two runs so far this term following the break and may again struggle in this company.
Seven-time winner over 6f-7f but it 0-12 to date at this trip and ran out of puff on debut for this yard when finishing highly creditable third at Newbury 1m last month. Good apprentice again claims 3lb but stamina has to be a concern.
Just 1-14 at Newbury 12 months ago over 1m and profile suggests he's at his best on a straight track. Fair fourth here though first time out last season so not easy to rule out a decent display.
Five wins to his name over 7f including an all out success at Chepstow last time out off 2lb lower mark. Placed last three attempts at this trip so a case can be made for him in current rock solid form.
6-20 on AW but 0-8 on turf tells its own story. Returns to this surface 19lb higher than previous turf effort when third at Brighton last October. Looks to have stiff task despite improving on artifical surfaces during the winter.
Won at Leicester last August over 1m and on the mark again duing the winter landing Kempton 1m h'cap in February. Ran far too free and faded fast on reappearance at Newmarket last month and has a bit to prove following that.
Unexposed Siyouni colt who won at third time of asking on seasonal return at Doncaster 1m last month on handicap debut. Kept on when second at Newmarket last time 1m2f but drop back in trip suggests he may not have stayed. Could have more to offer.
Had fine juvenile campaign last year winning 3-5 including twice at 1m. Eased 2lb after two lack-lustre efforts since the returning and has yet to conclusively prove he's trained on so watching brief advised.
Never out of first three in all five runs on AW to date including Kempton 7f nursery success during the winter. Has turf pedigree and plenty of stamina on dam's side so getting plenty of weight all round is worth noting for any market moves.
Forecasts
Nugget (9/4), Stanford (9/2), Marshal Dan (6/1), Gallipoli (6/1), Love Dreams (8/1), Canal Rocks (12/1), Jackstar (12/1), Swiss Cheer (20/1), Corazon Espinado (22/1), World Title (25/1), Pinnata (33/1), Silverturnstogold (66/1)
No standout candidate in this event but NUGGET has only had four starts and looks the type to keep on the right side. He may not have got home over 1m2f last time out so the drop back to this trip looks the right move. There's a fair case to be made for both Marshal Dan and turf debutant Stanford, while Love Dreams appeared to run well last time at Newbury and may again be very much in the mix. Gallipoli could prove best of the remainder.
- Nugget
