Took a significant step forward last time out when a 4½L winner at Redcar over 6f. Carries a 7lb penalty for that but manner of that success suggests he could overcome it for scorching hot yard.

Well held in a 6f Newmarket and 7f Haydock contest and looks more a handicap prospect at this stage.

£40,000 yearling beaten 14½L in the end on debut over 7f at Chepstow paying the price for racing far too keenly. Will have learnt a bit there but hard to recommend.

Havana Gold gelding last of eight and always in rear on debut here last month. Best watched again here.

Neck seconds as favourite in 5f contests at Pontefract and Windsor the last twice give him among the best form on offer and extra 1f might actually help so surely a big player again here.

Supplicant gelding always towards rear when 12th of 13 on debut at Windsor and only a watching brief can be recommended after that.

Amor De Mi Vida

Dabirsim filly cost €48,000 as a yearling half-sister to 5 winners including a couple on the AW at two. Yard's record with juveniles propels her onto the shortlist.

By Charming Thought out of a 1¼m winner who stayed 1½m. Some appeal on pedigree, but likely to be seen to better effect granted time and distance.

Star Of Bahrain12
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: Dylan Hogan(3)| T: D Loughnane

5,000 yearling; half-sister to six winners was slowly into stride when last of 11 at Doncaster on debut a couple of weeks ago and remains one to watch from afar after that.

Verre Dore23
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: K T O'Neill| T: J J Bridger
200/1
Heeraat filly last of nine on debut here after a very slow start and hard to fancy on the back of that effort.

Forecasts

Lockdown (1/1), Amor De Mi Vida (10/3), Bowman (9/2), Burristo (11/1), Cuban Cigar (14/1), Resolute Lass (20/1), Star Of Bahrain (50/1), Jaffathegaffa (100/1), The Zigster (125/1), Verre Dore (200/1)

Verdict

After two near misses over 5f the always topical LOCKDOWN can strike for the first time with the step up to 6f likely to bring about some improvement. Penalised winner Bowman won with plenty in hand at Redcar so he rates a big danger. Newcomer Amor de Mi Vida can't be dismissed given the yard she hails from.
