Defied market drift on debut when running out game winner of 7f Yarmouth novice in August 2019. Not seen since and changed hands. Claims but gives weight all-round.
Not the most taking pedigree and showed signs of inexperience on debut when 4L seventh at Lingfield (1m) in June. Drops 2f in trip but others make more pressing claims.
Bated Breath gelding. Ran with credit but no chance with smart winner when third in 7f Chepstow maiden in mid June. Yards crop tend to come on with each start so does have claims.
Not a cheap purchase but didn't offer much promise on debut (despite being hampered) when last of nine at Newbury (6f) last July. Not seen since and has first run since wind surgery, gelded and wears various headgear in this. Quirky sort.
Delegator colt. Brother to 1m winner Happy Escape, half-brother to winners Silverturnstogold (1m) and For Ayman (6f). Yard only 2-89 in these races in recent years and more of a long-term prospect.
First foal. Dam was placed up to 1m1f on the AW and is a half-sister to 1m winner Avertis. Limited appeal on paper however and this looks incredibly tough to be debuting in.
Homebred. First foal. Dam was precocious sort, winning 7f Group 1 as a juvenile. Closely related to Group 2 winner Time On (1m4f) and Group 1 winner Time Charter (1m2f). Taking pedigree and leading claims.
Seventh foal. Full-sister to top juvenile Air Force Blue (triple Group 1 winner between 6f and 7f) and Bugle (1m1f). Dam was stakes-placed in the US. Top pedigree for top yard and notable if there is market support.
£185,000 yearling. Half-sister to speedy sorts, including Group 2 winner Mobsta (6f) and Cincuenta Pasos (6f-7f). Dam was unplaced on the track. Market should guide.
Cheap purchase as a yearling and relatively unfancied on debut. Ran accordingly when 10L seventh at Leicester (6f) and faces equally tough task in this.
Half-sister to 1m2f winner Juneau. Dam was a winner over 1m as a juvenile and is a full-sister to Group 1 performer Raven's Pass. Notable pedigree and worth a check on debut.
25,000 gns yearling. Half-sister to winners Mushaireb (1m) and Inshaa (7f). Dam was a winner over 1m2f and sister to Group 3 winner Hazarista. Yard are 22% in these type of contests so worth a look.
Homebred. Half-sister to top sprinter Advertise (triple Group 1 winner at 6f) and Flavius Titus (6f). Dam 6f AW winner. Interesting if there is support in the market.
Second foal. Dam was a winner over 1m4f, half-sister to 1m4f winner Singalat and related to US Grade 2 winner Dark Islander. Not a majorly appealing pedigree however so best watched.
Forecasts
Tinker Toy (1/1), Fresh Snow (18/5), With Promise (8/1), Ethics Approval (9/1), American Entente (10/1), Fair Praise (12/1), Publicise (18/1), Raabeh (33/1), Hidden Angel (40/1), Far From A Ruby (50/1), Absolute Altitude (80/1), Trusty Rusty (150/1), Send In The Clouds (150/1), Sold On Cyprus (250/1)
Quite a few smartly-bred sorts make their belated debuts in this contest and TINKER TOY can take this onto higher aims. He is the eagerly awaited first son of a champion juvenile, which suggests that inexperience may not be of an issue for a yard who have just begun to hit a run of form. Similarly, the likes of Publicise, Fresh Snow and American Entente all have blue-blood pedigrees and will progress throughout the season on whatever they achieve in this, while Hidden Angel cannot be ignored as she is trained by a very shrewd trainer who usually strikes with these first-time sorts.
- Tinker Toy
- Hidden Angel
- American Entente
