Not disgraced on either of his most recent starts which came over this trip on turf. Never won any of his eight starts on the turf which would advise caution, but has to have place claims given he is in better form than some of his rivals.
Second in this grade when runner-up on the AW at Wolverhampton (7f; standard) when returned to 7f last week. Has bits and pieces of form prior to that which would also entitle him to be considered a major player.
13-year-old veteran who was last seen in July 2019 finishing last behind 14 rivals at Beverley (7f; good) at large odds. Never won when fresh either so too much to prove to even begin to make a case for.
Modest strike rate (1-15) and she has never won on either of her two starts on turf. Could run into a place if in the same form she showed when second at Wolverhampton (7f; standard) at the start of the year.
Struggling for form at present, but did show some encouragement when fifth over C&D behind Robben Rainbow (3rd) in August. Vulnerable for win purposes but could grab a place if stepping up his game just a little.
More recent efforts have been poor, but he is another one who has ran some of his better races over C&D including when a neck-second last May. Claims on the strength of that form but impossible to know whether he will reproduce it.
Was always towards the rear of the field when 12th of 13 on his seasonal debut at Ripon (6f; good to soft). Dropped 3lb and would have place claims on the form of his fourth-placed effort over C&D in October.
Losing run is mounting up but he did win over C&D last May. Only looked like recapturing that form once in 12 subsequent starts. Blinkers applied for the first time and they will need to spark a major step forward.
Ended 2019 in desperately poor form when last of 14 at Newcastle (7f; standard). Makes seasonal reappearance after 275-day break, and very unlikely to play a leading role on all known form. Look elsewhere for more viable alternatives.
Sole encouraging run last year for previous yard was on handicap debut when fourth at Ripon (6f; good). Would have place claims on that form but has been unable to build on it twice since. Seasonal/stable debut and too much to prove to recommend.
Impossible to fancy given how little he has shown in any of his six career starts, including on return from four-month break when never on terms at Wolverhampton (7f; standard). First-time blinkers will need to work miracles.
Improved for the switch to handicaps when finding the hot-favourite too good on Monday at Thirsk (1m; good). Very lightly raced and should have plenty more to give back down in trip. The one to beat if able to reproduce that form.
Forecasts
Temper Trap (6/5), Deeds Not Words (11/2), Deconso (6/1), Robben Rainbow (11/1), Torque Of The Town (12/1), Drew Breeze (12/1), Destination Aim (20/1), Hanati (22/1), Let Right Be Done (25/1), Naples Bay (25/1), Milton Road (25/1), Spotton (66/1)
An extremely low-grade event in which ready preference is for TEMPER TRAP who is open to vastly more improvement compared to his 11 rivals after finding just one too good on his handicap debut at Thirsk at the start of the week. A reproduction of that run would probably be good enough to see him go one better. Of the remainder there are very few to be positive about, but Deeds Not Words has to enter calculations given he has been consistent in defeat recently, and went close on the AW last week. Meanwhile, Deconso has only ever won on the AW but should also have some sort of role to play after he has ran respectably on turf the last twice.
