Easing in the weights (and grade); sole win came on soft ground at Pontefract (1m) in October 2017; trainer saddled a winner (Stormin Norman) at Musselburgh last week; market can offer a handy guide.
With Clive Cox when beaten ½L by Mitigator at Lingfield (1m, AW) last June; competes off the same mark on his third start for Ruth Carr - finished last of 13 at Ayr (1m, good) 290 days ago.
Newcastle winner (1m); slowly into stride, and always in rear on return to the turf at Ripon (1m2f, good to soft) 16 days ago; has eased marginally in the weights since; this 1m trip appears more suitable.
No win for in excess of three years (then based with Alan King), but twice placed on the AW so far this calendar year, including at Chelmsford (1m2f) last month; a possible player with Keiran O'Neill retaining the mount.
Finally broke his duck, on the beach at Laytown (7f) last September (runner-up from a similar mark on turf at Beverley, 1m4f previously); set to make his first start for 137 days.
Capitalised on a consistent spell of form when justifying favouritism on the AW at Newcastle (1m) last October; theoretically, sits on a fair mark (54), but didn't fire at Doncaster, and a modest turf record (1-28) is an obvious concern.
Driven right out when scoring by a neck in a Class 5 maiden handicap at Redcar (1m, good) last June - ran respectably on her next couple of starts, can improve on her recent Doncaster comeback fourth (Broctune Red second).
Both wins on the Fibresand at Southwell (1m); found things happening a little too quickly for his liking when a never dangerous sixth at Catterick (7f, good to soft) last week; swift turnaround (under suitable conditions).
Veteran of 78 races (six wins); shaped better than the bare finishing position implied when returning to action over C&D (good) a fortnight ago; still likely to find others more competitive; stablemate of French Flyer.
Versatile mare - last win came over hurdles at Catterick (1m7½f, good) in November 2018; produced broadly similar performances at Pontefract (1m4f) & Haydock (1m2½f); the strong suspicion is that she'll find this 1m trip on the sharp side.

Broctune Red (11/4), Burguillos (16/5), Travel Lightly (9/2), Loose Chippings (8/1), Palazzo (8/1), Frankster (11/1), Glaceon (16/1), Rebel State (20/1), High Fort (25/1), Be Bold (33/1), French Flyer (33/1), Dark Poet (40/1)
With Micky Hammond among the winners at Musselburgh last week, the eased in the weights (& grade) top-weight Frankster merits market scrutiny, but the pair to concentrate most closely upon are the Doncaster rivals BROCTUNE RED and Glaceon. Tina Jackson's mare has proved reasonably consistent over the past 12 months or so, and will almost certainly strip fitter for that recent seasonal reappearance. However, she could once more be forced to play second-fiddle to a blossoming ten-race maiden. The Gillian Boanas-trained five-year-old gave supporters of the in-form Lacan a mighty scare at Doncaster, and this rates as a suitable opportunity to strike.
- Broctune Red
- Glaceon
- Frankster
