Sole Flat win was gained on only previous visit here and that was on soft ground, so while any rain that may fall wouldn't be a concern, the fact she has been off the track for 14 months could be.

Entered handicaps on too high a mark after landing an AW maiden win in April last year and has now dropped down to a more realistic level so no surprise to see him do better back off a break.

Did win on the Flat here in 2015 but very lightly raced in this sphere these days and not easy to predict how he will fare though he landed a minor race over hurdles at Taunton last autumn.

Generally consistent in 2019 but having shaped well enough on comeback run, was then disappointing at Sandown since. Possible that was just an off day and could be the type to bounce back so might be worth forgiving that effort.

Would have needed Sandown comeback run but now returns to a track where he has a very good record and off a lower mark than his last victory so would think there is better to come.

Dual Southwell winner in the past but had lost his way until showing much more when fourth behind a subsequent winner at Newmarket. If able to build on that he should play a prominent role for trainer now in better form.

Won at Bath early last season but lost his way after that and comeback run offered no immediate hope and not hard to look elsewhere.

Some ability on belated debut last summer but didn't build on that on two further runs. Now goes into handicaps and only of interest if market speaks in her favour.

Pair of low grade wins when trained in Ireland. Too keen on latest run for current yard here last month over 2m so the drop in trip is a plus though others make more appeal.

Coming back from a long absence when offering little at Kempton last week. Very lightly raced on the Flat and eligible for much lower grade contests.

Forecasts

Golden Wolf (5/2), Ascot Day (7/2), Singing The Blues (7/2), Sula Island (4/1), Sea Sculpture (9/2), Temur Khan (7/1), Globetrotter (7/1), Nearly Famous (17/2), Borak (28/1), Ruby Wine (28/1), Buonarotti Boy (33/1), Simbirsk (40/1)

Verdict

GOLDEN WOLF won in the style of a well handicapped horse at Newmarket last time out and sets the standard with the return to this longer trip no problem. He gets the vote, though Tony Carroll also saddles Temur Khan who showed more last time and if able to build on that has the look of a well treated sort so the market should be revealing. Globetrotter, a rare runner here for his yard could be the pick of the remainder.
  1. Golden Wolf
  2. Temur Khan
  3. Globetrotter
