Debut winner over 5f at Wolverhampton last month and drops in grade having finished 9L 14th in a 5f Listed contest at Royal Ascot (good) subsequently. Strong claims despite carrying a penalty.
Failed to beat a rival home in two starts to date most recently when beaten 24L over 6f at Redcar (good) just under a fortnight ago. Others look more likely winners of this event.
Finished fifth in a couple of starts over this trip including when beaten 9L in a good ground event at Pontefract last time out. Likely more needed if he is to take this race.
Shaped as if a drop in trip would suit when finishing eighth of ten in a 6f novice race on debut at Newcastle just under a month ago. Interesting to see how he fares in this contest.
Good ½L second in a 5f novice event on debut at Lingfield last month and wears a visor for the first time having finished behind Stay Smart when finishing 17th of 18 at Royal Ascot (5f, good) in a Listed contest six days later.
Disappointing favourite when 12L third in a small field 6f maiden at Yarmouth (good-to-firm) On debut last month and struggled over this trip when 15L ninth of ten at Thirsk (good-to-soft) on Monday. Blinkers tried for the first time.
Sent off a big price prior to finishing third in a 5f maiden at Beverley (good) on debut last month. Runner-up that day has run well in defeat since and she is of interest in this event.
Forecasts
Stay Smart (5/4), Crown Princess (9/4), Tenth Century (6/1), Nacho (12/1), Belardie (12/1), Fircombe Hall (18/1), Oasis Boy (125/1)
STAY SMART, the only previous winner in the field can defy a penalty to double his career tally in the opening novice event. The selection is down markedly in grade having raced at Royal Ascot on his most recent outing and he can see off Tenth Century, another to have been on show at Royal Ascot while Crown Princess, placed on debut last month can claim third.
