Solid and consistent sort on the AW around Dundalk during the winter. Ran well in defeat on return to action at this venue over 6½f and could be suited by the step up in trip.

Nine-race maiden generally well held and never nearer in a number of starts on the AW at Dundalk in handicap company around the turn of the year. Nothing of note in a couple of starts back on turf since racing resumed.

Free Eagle filly who is a half-sister to an 1m/1m2f AW Winner. Yet to hit the frame in five career starts including four efforts on turf. Will need to improve on overall form to play a significant role in this contest.

Mixed bag of efforts so far in 11 career starts so far. Yet to hit the frame in four starts on turf but could be worth a check in the market with the yard performing well in the last 14 days.

By Epaulette. Made €7,500 as a yearling. Half-brother to a couple of winners. Sent off at big prices in three career starts so far before running accordingly on each occasion.

Seven-race maiden didn't appear to be suited by the drop to 7f when last seen on the AW at Dundalk in February. Needs to improve on even his best form to take a part in the finish here.

Off the mark at the fourth time of asking for connections when landing a Gowran Park contest on handicap debut over a similar trip off a 9lb lower mark earlier this month. Another bold bid expected.

Dismal efforts in three starts when sent off at big prices between January and February this year before running accordingly on each occasion. Beaten 20L on return to action in a Roscommon 1m2f handicap earlier this month. Has plenty to prove.

11-race maiden but running well in defeat in a number of starts on the AW at Dundalk and more recently at this venue over 6½f. Could be of interest in first-time cheekpieces.

Four-race maiden, well held on each start so far including on handicap and stable debut in a Gowran Park 1m contest earlier this month. May be a little early to be writing off.

Running well in defeat in a couple of initial starts on turf earlier this month at Gowran Park and when last seen in a Naas 7f contest. Handicapper gives the daughter of Camacho a chance to hit the frame.

Eight-race maiden endured a tortuous juvenile year. Well beaten on last couple of starts on the AW at Dundalk in November/December and looks easy to oppose once again.

Forecasts

Shona Mea (13/8), Amelia Jane (5/2), Jm Barrie (7/1), Philly's Hope (9/1), Talking Tough (10/1), Sky God (18/1), Pikaia (22/1), Cap D'Antibes (22/1), Shabra's O B (25/1), Hisnameis Mrdevitt (33/1), Rolling Wave (50/1), Odd Venture (66/1)

Verdict

Winner of a Gowran Park handicap over a similar trip at the fourth attempt, SHONA MEA can continue her progress in a weak looking renewal. The daughter of Dragon Pulse should get the better of the Chris Hayes-ridden Talking Tough for the Michael Mulvany yard and the Willie McCreery-trained Amelia Jane, who is likely to improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces following a solid return to action at this track earlier this month. Jm Barrie has the next best form on turf should not be underestimated.
  1. Shona Mea
  2. Talking Tough
  3. Amelia Jane
