Much-improved on seasonal/handicap bow when scoring at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm; 11-1) with plenty in hand five days ago; likely has plenty more to offer and should go well under the 6lb penalty.

Slade Power colt, didn't progress in three runs early last season in maiden/novice company but definitely showed some encouraging signs. Back for handicap bow and could improve to be competitive in this low-grade contest.

Big prices in pair of Yarmouth novices over 6f on heavy ground in the autumn; has shaped well enough in three Southwell starts in February and the filly is a likely improver back on turf for h'cap bow with quicker ground forecast.

Modest form on turf last summer but improver on the AW in November; going close in 6f Chelmsford handicap when last sighted. Gelded since and likely has a leading say back on turf with yard in form.

Novice runs last year not without promise, including Ascot debut on turf over 6f, and looks like a possible improver having been gelded over the break. Market should guide on handicap bow.

Progressed nicely in five starts early this year, culminating in 6f Wolverhampton handicap win in March off 55. Didn't fire on return at Kempton but could bounce back on turf bow.

Eight-race maiden with only minor promise shown so far, first turf run since joining this yard late last year; handicapper has offered him a chance if he can take it.

Showed very little last year on turf but has improver on the all-weather over winter/spring; twice winning over 5f at Wolverhampton. More needed to defy this rating on turf return however.

Filly started at fancy prices in all three runs on the all-weather over 6f/7f and she'll have to take a good step forward on handicap/turf bow in what will be her first run since December.

Eight-race maiden but has certainly offered something to work with last year; useful claiming rider can take 5lb off here and any market confidence would be worth noting.

Gelding hasn't offered much in three starts so far on the all-weather; has the benefit of a recent spin around Lingfield (7f) for fitness purposes but must improve on this handicap/turf debut.

Mukhadram filly looked to be in possession of modest ability in five starts last year (four on turf). Well held on handicap bow at Newcastle (7f, Tapeta) in October and lots to find on this seasonal bow.

Forecasts

Bonus (1/1), Ivadream (4/1), Sacred Legacy (15/2), Rocketeer (14/1), Diamond Cottage (18/1), Harbour Point (20/1), Gherkin (25/1), Hot Hot Hot (25/1), Cmon Cmon (28/1), Santorini Sal (28/1), Baileys Freedom (40/1), Hands Down (80/1)

Verdict

Having taken a big step forward on reappearance at Yarmouth last week, BONUS can prove hard to beat under a penalty. He took care of a recent winner in that contest and looks to have plenty scope for further strides in this grade. Any money for Santorini Sal would be notable, while Ivadream should be on the premises having been gelded since last spotted. Handicap debutants Sacred Legacy and Harbour Point also merit some thought.
