Enjoyed a fine 2019 winning five times at between 1m2f-1m6f and starts the news season with a new trainer off 22lb higher than early last term. Won first time out last campaign so eight months absence less of a concern than top weight.
Won staying handicaps at Nottingham and Goodwood last spring and fared well without success in his final three starts, including showing up for a long way in the Cesarewitch. Still 3lb higher than last winning mark.
Five-time winner last term including two at St Moritz. Failed to shine there this winter but lost out by just a neck over C&D two years ago on only previous track visit so isn't completely out of the reckoning.
Dual hurdles scorer in 2019 but hasn't run on Flat since leaving the William Haggas yard in December 2018 having won a Ripon 1m4f novice stakes. Should stay and returns on feasible handicap mark.
Dual purpose performer who won twice on the Flat in France prior to joining current handler in August 2018. No joy since but was fair second in Newbury h'cap hurdle in January on last outing.
Career record of 1-20 tells its own story but finally broke his duck over 1m4f in Pontefract h'cap off 1lb lower mark last summer and ran a few fair races after without success. Yard quiet since return hasn't yet got into its stride.
Goodwood 1m2f maiden winner in 2017 for Marcus Tregoning and won twice over timber for current yard in spring 2019. Hasn't raced for nearly 11 months but has gone well fresh in the past so worth a look at the market for any interest.
Yet to score beyond 1m3f on Flat although did land 2m jumpers bumper at Wolverhampton in February. Stamina to prove on this stiff track but top jockey an interesting booking so is not without a squeak.
2-9 on Flat but hasn't raced in this sphere since 2016. Stays well and is decent handicap hurdler so with good jockey booking the signs are that he is expected to go well here in the first-time cheekpieces.
3-26 on the Flat including over this trip. Won Ffos Las 2m h'cap hurdle on latest outing in November last year but doesn't look obviously well handicapped for yard yet to hit the target since the return to action.
Stable companion of Nabhan. Only career success came in Lingfield AW 2m h'cap last year but placed 5-13 on turf including when second over this trip at Salisbury last Flat start in August. 5lb higher so has a bit to prove.
Decent hurdler and has won on Flat AW at Wolverhampton in 1m4f h'cap off 62. Last seen finishing good ninth of 24 in valuable Ladbrokes Trophy Hurdle at Newbury in February.
Forecasts
Nuits St Georges (5/2), Leoncavallo (4/1), Seaborn (4/1), Nelson River (6/1), Fibonacci (8/1), Roar (14/1), Qawamees (20/1), Red Royalist (28/1), Berrahri (33/1), Prabeni (33/1), Cogital (50/1), Nabhan (66/1)
LEONCAVALLO is a fairly confident choice. He represents a good trainer who has booked a top rider for a horse without a run on the Flat for nearly four years but who has decent hurdles form. Prabeni could prove the biggest danger having done well enough over timber since winning 1m4f novice stakes for William Haggas. He doesn't look overburdened on handicap bow. Nuits St George had a good time of things last season and may again pay his way, while both Roar and Fibonacci cannot dismissed if ready for this Topweight Seaborn landed five wins last season but will do well to score off this career high mark on his return.
- Leoncavallo
- Prabeni
- Fibonacci
