Signs of ability in three starts at two including when 8L eighth in a soft ground 7f novice event at Newmarket in October. Gelded since and is worth a check in the market on handicap debut.

Placed in a 6f novice race at Newbury (good-to-firm) last July but has finished held in three subsequent starts including twice in handicaps. Market support would be notable on his first start since being gelded.

Decent effort in finishing 7L second in a 6f novice event at Kempton on debut in September but failed to replicate that effort when 10L fifth over this trip at Wolverhampton subsequently. Worth a check in the market on handicap debut.

Maiden after eight starts but ran a decent race when finishing 2½L sixth in first time blinkers (retained) in a 6f handicap at Kempton in October. Interesting to see how he fares on first appearance since being gelded.

Well beaten 13L ninth in a novice event over this trip at Lingfield in December on her most recent outing. Likely more needed if she is to make a winning handicap debut in this race.

Victorious in a good-to-firm ground 5f handicap at Chepstow in September and finished a good third over 6f at Thirsk (good-to-firm) subsequently. Steping up in trip on debut for this yard having disappointed at Leicester last time.

Ran well when finishing 2L fourth in a handicap over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton in early February. Races off a 1lb lower mark here and is one to note dropping back in distance.

Failed to figure in three starts to date most recently when 11L ninth over this C&D in a novice event last October. Others make more appeal from a wide draw on handicap and stable debut.

Forecasts

Striding Edge (7/2), Albert Edward (9/2), Fuchsia (5/1), Queen Of Silca (6/1), King's View (9/1), Exotic Escape (14/1), Falconidae (16/1), Newton Jack (16/1), Rock Of Redmond (16/1), River Sprite (25/1), Bad Company (28/1), Prissy Missy (66/1)

Verdict

FUCHSIA has shown ability on all three starts so far and she can get off the mark on her first attempt at handicaps by taking this three-year-old only event. The selection should appreciate this step up in distance and she can see off Prissy Missy who is upped in trip on her first start for a new yard having shown winning handicap form over the minimum distance last autumn. Third place can go the way of Queen Of Silca who is dropping back in distance having run well off a 1lb higher mark on her most recent start.
  1. Fuchsia
  2. Prissy Missy
  3. Queen Of Silca
